This is one of the quiet fruits of humility: we become willing to learn from people we could easily dismiss. Sometimes the mercy of being humbled comes through realizing that a leadership approach that once worked is no longer healthy. Sometimes it comes when another person sees a blind spot we cannot see. Sometimes God loves us through the person who says, “You cannot keep doing this.” A humble leader doesn’t assume every criticism is correct, but neither does he assume every criticism is wrong. He learns to ask, “Lord, what might You be showing me here? What do I need to learn? How do I need to grow?”
Over the past 5 years I’ve had a front row seat to experience Coach Polson’s incredibly accurate intuition for the game as well as a deep love for every player he coaches. He absolutely cares more about the heart of the player than any result they produce. He is fiercely competitive but has what every parent, player and coach may describe as that grandfatherly approach & spiritual leadership which just makes you want to be around him!

Hey @SouthwestAir! Just hopped on a flight from ATL->DEN. Your team member Cody has it figured out. This is a perfect example of unreasonable hospitality! Small gestures of appreciation like this (having the pistachios already in the seat-back) go a long way. Everyone noticed!
