🚨I may sound weird or negative over the past few weeks, but I used to be a pillar of strength whenever markets fell in the past.
Because I know it's a cycle of the markets.

कर्जत तालुक्यात (जि. रायगड) सह्याद्रीच्या कुशीत वसलेल्या भीमाशंकर वन्यजीव अभयारण्याला लागून असलेल्या सायडोंगर वनक्षेत्रात सध्या विकासाच्या नावाखाली निसर्गाचा भयानक विनाश सुरू आहे. पंप स्टोरेज जलविद्युत प्रकल्पासाठी २३३ हेक्टरवरील घनदाट जंगलातील तब्बल ३२ हजारांहून अधिक झाडांची अक्षरशः कत्तल सुरु झालीय. कागदावर हा आकडा ३२ हजार दिसत असला तरी उद्या तो लाखापर्यंत जाईल आणि हे होत असताना जीवाच्या आकांताने ओरडणाऱ्या तेथील हजारो-लाखो पक्षांचा आकांत कुणालाही ऐकू येत नाही, हे दुर्दैव आहे. एखाद्या कसायाप्रमाणे निर्घृणपणे पक्षांची घरटी, अंडी आणि अजून पंखही न फुटलेली घरट्यातील पिल्लं नष्ट केली जातायेत… सिंमेंटच्या जंगलात राहणाऱ्यांना जंगलातील पक्षांची ही आर्त किंकाळी ऐकू येणार आहे की नाही?
हा प्रकार केवळ वृक्षतोड नसून एका इकोसिस्टिमचा अंत आहे आणि हे याचे गंभीर परिणाम माणसाला भविष्यात भोगावे लागणार आहेत. हे घनदाट जंगल महाराष्ट्राचा राज्यप्राणी असलेल्या शेकरूसह बिबटे, भेकर, उदमांजर, खेकडे आणि शेकडो दुर्मिळ पक्षांचं हक्काचं निवासस्थान आहे. पण या झाडांची कत्तल होत असल्याने आता ते पूर्णपणे बेघर होतायेत. मौल्यवान औषधी वनस्पती, दुर्मिळ कीटक आणि वैशिष्ट्यपूर्ण जैवविविधतेने नटलेली सह्याद्रीची ही रांग या बेसुमार कत्तलीमुळे कायमची नष्ट होण्याच्या मार्गावर आहे. त्यातच भर म्हणून या प्रकल्पासाठी डोंगरांमध्ये जे शक्तीशाली सुरुंगाचे स्फोट केले जातील त्यातून संपूर्ण डोंगराचा भाग कमकुवत होऊन भविष्यात माळीण किंवा इर्शाळवाडीची पुनरावृत्ती होण्याचाही धोका आहे.
कर्जतसारखा निसर्गरम्य परिसर जो मुंबई-पुण्याचं हवामान संतुलित राखण्यात मोठी भूमिका बजावतो, तिथली वनसंपदा नष्ट झाल्यास पर्यावरणीय समतोल बिघडणार असून स्थानिक आदिवासींचा जगण्याचा प्रश्नही गंभीर बनणार आहे. याला सर्वस्वी भांडवलदारांच्या हातचं बटीक बनून काम करणारं हे भाजप सरकार जबाबदार असून याच भांडवलदारांच्या फायद्यासाठी मुक्या पशू-पक्ष्यांचा बळी देऊन हा निसर्गाचा विनाश सुरुय. ३ नोव्हेंबर रोजी पंतप्रधानांच्या हस्ते या प्रकल्पाचं उद्घाटन होणार असून तोपर्यंत येथील संपूर्ण जंगल यांना नष्ट करायचंय आणि अशा प्रकारे जंगल नष्ट करुन होणारा विकास पंतप्रधान साहेबांना तरी मान्य असेल का? निसर्गाचा विनाश करून होणारा विकास हा विनाशकारी असून तो कोणत्याही परिस्थितीत आम्हाला मान्य नाही. या प्रकल्पाला आणि संबंधित कंपनीला विरोध असण्याचं काहीच कारण नाही, परंतु त्यांनी जे स्थान निवडलंय ते पूर्णतः चुकीचं आणि पर्यावरणाच्या मुळावर उठणारं आहे. त्यामुळं जिथं पर्यावरणाचा नाश होणार नाही, अशा ठिकाणी हा प्रकल्प नेला तर त्याला कुणाचाच विरोध असणार नाही. तसा प्रयत्न सरकार का करत नाही.
त्याऐवजी या ‘झाडखाऊ’ सरकारने महाराष्ट्राचं वाळवंट करण्याचा विडाच उचलला की काय अशी शंका येते. एक जागरूक नागरिक म्हणून या पर्यावरणाच्या विनाशाविरोधात आपण सर्वांनीच एकत्र येऊन आवाज उठवणं गरजेचं आहे. माध्यमांनीही पर्यावरणाचा आणि पुढच्या पिढीच्या भविष्याचा विचार करुन यावर आवाज उठवला पाहिजे. यामध्ये ‘शिवाई न्यूज’ यासारखी एक वात वादळातही मिणमिणतेय आणि या स्थानिक चॅनलचे पत्रकार यावर पोटतिडकीने निसर्गाचा होणारा हा विनाश ओरडून जगाला दाखवतायेत याचं निश्चितच कौतुक आहे. भविष्यात त्यांच्यावरही दबाव आणला जाऊ शकतो. तसंच ज्यांनी हा विनाश रोखायचा त्या सर्व संस्था देखील सरकारच्या दबावाखाली काम करत आहेत. त्यामुळं हे थांबवायचं असेल तर त्याला एकमेव पर्याय आहे तो म्हणजे जनतेचा दबाव.. तो आपण सर्वजण मिळून निर्माण करु आणि आपलं पर्यावरण वाचवू…
यापासून आपण आज अलिप्त राहिलो तर उद्याची पिढी आपल्याला माफ करणार नाही.
