I actually agree after running all the numbers. The only benefit of a shorter season is there are fewer games to get injured in. But the data doesn’t support the schedule, back to backs, etc as a factor in increased injuries. There also isn’t any support for the idea that load management and more rest days have done anything to reduce injuries. The injury problem is primarily lower body muscle strains happening early in the season. And that’s something that is most affected by off season and preseason prep and conditioning - not the schedule or style of play. I’m beginning to think the “injury problem” is really a modern athlete problem with a lack of proper out of season and preseason ramp up/conditioning.
Iman Shumpert goes off on anyone calling for the NBA to shorten its 82 game season, arguing that players should focus on conditioning and changing how they play instead of reducing the number of games. Shumpert points to legends like Michael Jordan, Karl Malone, John Stockton and Gary Payton, who played 82 game seasons, questioning why today’s players need fewer games. He believes the league should bring back more physical basketball, with players attacking the post, taking midrange shots, playing through contact and cutting down on flopping and exaggerated moves. He also questions how much extra time players would actually gain from shortening the season, arguing that changing the way the game is played may be a better solution to the injury problem. Last year it was clear that Patullo was leaking to the press that Hurts’ limitations were preventing him from doing his job effectively, to the point that they propped up McKey and suggested the offense would look better with him playing. I said at that point Patullo had to go. It seems pretty obvious that Sirianni is leaking info on Stoutland to justify his clash with him and ultimate decision to move on to a new offensive line coach. I wasn’t necessarily in favor of firing Sirianni before, but it feels like this is the end. You can’t do this kind of stuff expect a great culture in the org.
Jason Kelce wasn't leaving the studio without addressing a report suggesting Eagles players wanted Jeff Stoutland gone. “I take great offense to somebody alluding to players not fighting really hard for Jeff.” Kelce made it clear he believes the decision to move on from Stoutland came from inside the Eagles organization—not the players. “Don't give me this crap like trying to defer direction on the decisions that you guys wanted to make.”

According to the official NBA schedule analysis, the 76ers actually possess the single toughest opening 10-game stretch in the entire league, meaning their density of elite opponents is frontloaded more heavily than anyone else's. Silver waited on Bron to make the schedule 😑

Sixers hang on for a 112-106 win in Detroit to improve to 8-1 on the season, including a perfect 7-0 in clutch games. They've gone a combined 4-1 in games against the Knicks, Cavs and Pistons during this start. Easily the best game of Jaylen Brown's Sixers career: 30 points on 11-19 shooting.

“I don’t like that I’m getting feedback from the facility because that means you’re not blocking out the noise. You’re never going to be as great as you can be if you’re doing that.” - @NickFoles
Nick Foles goes on a passionate rant about people inside the Eagles’ building getting upset over former players criticizing the team: “The fact that they’re getting emotional about what we say. Like, block us out. We’re talking to the fans. The fact that you’re getting frustrated about what Nick Foles and Brandon Graham are saying. We care so much about the Eagles. BG and I want to talk really good about the Eagles, but when we go and put on the tape, there are too many things that we have to share from our perspective and insight.”

Joe Milton will be the fourth different Eagles’ QB to throw a pass this season: 🏈Jalen Hurts (blood clots) 🏈Andy Dalton (released) 🏈Tanner McKee (0-3 as starter) 🏈Joe Milton Philly is 2-6 and has lost six straight.
A QB change in Philadelphia: the Eagles are naming Joe Milton their starting QB and benching Tanner McKee for Sunday’s game vs. the Giants, per @mikegarafolo and me.

Will it be bad? Probably. But will it be more entertaining? Almost certainly.
Just in: The #Eagles will start Joe Milton on Sunday vs. the #Giants and are benching Tanner McKee after just three starts, per @AdamSchefter. Milton joined the team on October 16.

AJ Brown must have had that locker room in fucking HELL for morale to have been worse off at 6-2 then it is after losing 6 straight LMAOO
Jalyx Hunt says the Eagles were actually in a “worse position” last year compared to this year: "How it was in the building [last year], it felt a lot worse than this because we were winning, but it felt like we shouldn't have been winning at times. But now we're just not winning, so everybody's on the same page in finding an answer, staying positive and nobody's quitting." @jalyx_hunt

Thought this was a very thoughtful answer from a guy who has seen a lot change around him this year:
Joel Embiid with an extended answer on finding his role within the new-look Sixers. “For me it’s a little bit of an adjustment. I'm such a rhythm guy, and over the years, obviously, I've had a lot of opportunities to just touch the ball. You know, almost every every other possession, and now sometimes you can just go four or five possessions in a row where you don't touch the ball. It’s kind of like an adjustment where I'm not used to catch and shoot as much, I'm used to more creating for myself. So I'm working on that. But I think my mindset is really on whenever I have the ball, make plays you know make the game easy for all these guys, making the right play over and over, setting screens, getting Tyrese as open as much as possible. For all these guys, just kind of being a hub, try to get these guys open and make plays for themselves. That’s really what the focus is on.” Full answer:

Howard, you gotta stop stealing my videos without credit. I was willing to let the first one be, but this is quite unprofessional from you to be taking content without consent or accreditation as if you were in the locker room yourself. Please be respectful of my work moving forward.
