Welp…it was a good season while it lasted. One of the best seasons the @Giants have had in YEARS! Thanks for all the 2026 NFL memories… @espn #mondaynightfootball #mnf #giants #nygiants #rams

Is it “Freaky Friday” in the @NFL next week? Or are we just going to keep living with AI SLOP? AI isn’t going to kill us? It can’t even line up NFL teams with their logos! If we are going to do this, we need to pay attention to the extreme details. We are rushing through this AI revolution…

Hey @tntsports @MLB Can you leave the pitch thrown up for a little bit longer than .03 seconds? Every time I look over, it’s gone. You have a few seconds…or at least one more second… @Yankees #mlb #mlbplayoffs #ALDS

I've spent a lot of time writing about education, technology, and AI. On October 5th, I get to have that conversation face to face. Toodle invited me to speak at their "Charter Leaders Meetup: Arizona, a day built for the people shaping curriculum, assessment, and AI across their schools." We'll be at the Phoenix Art Museum. Here's what I believe: we are still preparing students for a world that is disappearing. The future isn't something that happens to our kids. We're building it right now, in every curriculum decision, every assessment, and every choice we make about AI in the classroom. The real question is whether Arizona's students will be ready to shape that future, or simply be shaped by it. I'll share my vision for where education needs to go, and the specific things we have to start doing differently to get there. If you lead a charter school in Arizona, I want you in that room. Let's build this together. Phoenix Art Museum Monday, October 5 | 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM MT Cost: Free The day is packed with great voices and hands-on sessions: Keynote: Jaime Casap on "The Future of Education is Human" Leadership Panel: Sarah Williams, Janelle Wood, Amanda Patrie, on leading innovation in the age of AI Innovation Forum: real examples of curriculum, assessment, and AI work already happening in Arizona charter schools with Dr. Michelle Watt, Sarah Mertz, and Michael Gordon-Smith Mixer: time to connect with fellow charter leaders Save your spot here: toddleapp.com/events/charter…

While we wait for a "strong and smart high IQ President," I've decided to do a few things this week... 1. Watch "Don't Look Up" again...because that is EXACTLY the way the world is reacting to what happened in AI this weekend. 2. Set up a landline phone (can I get a rotary phone?) 3. Buy the largest gas and solar power generator (I can fit into my Prius) 4. Buy crates of just one kind of canned goods (because of my childhood, I know I can eat Chef Boyardee ravioli at every meal for the rest of my life!) 5. Giant water containers (to store all my kid's Poppi drinks) 6. AAA paper map books (Jesus, I'm going to have to teach my kids how to read a map....ugg) 7. A semi truck's worth of Taster's Choice (time to admit that I have ALWAYS loved instant coffee!) 8. Vinyl records and tapes to add to my collection AND batteries for my Sony Walkman (we don't own any music) 9. A set of Encyclopedia Britannica to home school our kids (last set published in 2012...I hope Obama wins!) 10. Lots of Duct Tape! (at the end of civilization, NOTHING will be more helpful than rolls and rolls of Duct Tape!) Besides other obvious things like camping equipment, guns, bullets, manual can openers, tools, board games, medical supplies, and a deck of Uno Cards, all things I already have, what else will I need?

Three AI CEOs just went on record admitting the technology they’re building is unsafe. We can’t wait for a catastrophic failure or national security crisis to act. I’m pushing for a Select Committee on AI to give Congress the tools to protect the American people.
We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so. Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training. Read the essay Dario, the CEO of Anthropic posted this morning. You don’t need to be educated (Master’s in Public Policy) and/or experienced (20+ years working in tech) to come to the conclusion that there is no way in hell any of what he suggested in his plan is going to work. All you need to do is read the comments to come to this conclusion. Oh, and I’m not even talking about the crazy ass conspiracy theory comments on X/Twitter, although you should definitely read those! I’m talking about all the comments under this The New York Times article! This is where we should find the sensible educated thoughtful reflections! Nope! They are just as insane and delusional as the ones you find on Twitter. - This is a PR stunt - Other models have caught up that’s why - This is to boost their IPO price - We can’t let China win - Show me the proof this is real - We can’t stop because economy - Etc And my favorite theme… - I don’t believe you (and apparently doesn’t believe Sam Altman, Elon Musk, and all the other AI leaders who agree and stand with Dario…) my chat bot on my free LLM account gives me wrong answers all the time! There is no way it’s dangerous enough to hack the Internet! (As if they have .000001% understanding of what Is happening…) The delusional idea that we can “slow down” is insane. I don’t like posting ideas without thoughts on a solution but in this case, I don’t have one. I seriously don’t think anyone does. Why? Because if we can’t manage or control AI when we UNDERSTAND how it’s doing RGI, what are we going to do when AI passes human intelligence and we don’t have the capacity to understand what it’s doing! You can have all the third party assessments and coordination you want, it will be smarter than us. It’s as if there is a group of ants in your yard who have formed a committee to make sure you don’t add an addition to your house. Like you care or even know they exist, let alone have assessors that want to review your plans! Thoughts? nytimes.com/2026/09/12/techn…

Can we just all say, “ok, you win the 2020 election. You are right” so we can get him to focus on real shit we are worried about.
Trump in Ireland lies delusionally: "We had a rigged election. As you know, it was totally rigged. Because I won three times. I didn't win twice. I won three times."
