Astronomy is one of the more accessible sciences. Just go outside and look up. There is boundless wonder that can be found in just staring at the night sky. Many sciences can be enjoyed by just going outside.

How many cool physics tweets do I have to trade for a good letter of reference? Like, what's the exchange rate?

I cannot fathom how it is that "space people" are so nationalistic. It's as if we have learned nothing over the last 60 years. The singular goal of US spaceflight seems to be to beat China to the Moon. This continues a lackluster line of thinking.

Ultimately, advancements do not occur in a vacuum. Cutting funding for sciences in organizations like NASA, NSF, and NIH opposes the goal of "continued human spaceflight dominance," regardless of how the new NASA budget appears to align with that goal.

To all fellow grad school applicants - if they cannot be bothered to even interview you after you PAID them to apply, then fuck them.

I feel like if a graduate school rejects you but does not give you any feedback on your application, your application fee should be refunded. I mean, what else are you paying them for?

I didn't understand until applying myself, but Gradcafe really ruins your mental health.

I got back into Chess last winter and I am playing in my first-ever OTB tournament on Memorial Day weekend. I won't even get a draw at the event - but you have to get out there. From my training though, this was one of my best comeback wins after a brutal mistake #Chess

The cost of education is ludicrous and shows no signs of slowing down. I am unsure how future generations will begin to afford the basic right to education. Action must be taken at every level of government.
Today, thousands of students started or went back to college—many of them taking on debt for the literal cost of education. This is wrong. We need free college.

BREAKING: Green party candidate @MatthewPHoh did the hard work of collecting the 13,865 signatures required to get on the ballot (he submitted 15,953 signatures) & the Board of Elections just voted 3-2 not to certify it. The 3 people who voted to subvert democracy are DEMOCRATS.

Elon Musk bought a seat on the Twitter board, Jeff Bezos owns the Washington Post, Bill Gates has given over $300 million to media outlets. Actual free speech and democracy are not compatible with this level of wealth.

You can file $35 insulin in the “access to healthcare” folder because it only applies to people with insurance and doesn’t change the actual price the drug company charges at all meaning the insurance company is going to pass the cost on to you eventually in your premium.
