This thread is interesting because it pits "design" agains "product management" as if they are waring camps. How about integrating design, product, and dev instead? Competing silos are never a good thing, IME. Break down the walls.
Product Managers have taken a huge chunk out of the design teams agency by framing insight gathering as “product discovery”.

The user experience between web browsers and the OS is broken. More than a decade of stupid tabs. It is time for some real innovation.

Precedent is a poor reason for decisions. It calcifies the status quo without a compelling rationale. It doesn’t matter how long a tradition has stood. If the old way is wrong, it should be challenged and changed. Progress lies in improving the future, not defending the past.

Criminally indicted Ken Paxton, Texas's Attorney General, ran from a subpoena because he believes the law doesn’t apply to him. And that’s why he has evaded trial for almost a decade. Texans are tired of his corruption. In 41 days we will vote him out.

In burnout cultures, people are judged by the sacrifices they make. Hobbies, vacations, and even family time are viewed as distractions to penalize. In healthy cultures, people are judged by the commitments they keep. Interests outside work are seen as passions to celebrate.

The user experience for approving an app download for a family member on Apple devices is awful. Maybe Apple has just set my expectations too high...

I worked with someone that loved to share his story about working at Apple as a web front-end dev. He said that he didn't get pixel-perfect mocks, and sometime little guidance.

But everyone on the team knew what was expected, knew the Apple experience expectations. He talked about low defect rates, and people working with purpose. What happened here, with this approval interaction that should be so easy?
And no notification of success or failure? Where can I see a list of the requests made, and if action was taken already, maybe by another approver in the family?
Enter my password to approve an app for a family member? I don't need to do that for myself. I can use FaceId to make ApplePay payments. Why different here?
