One of the most common and dangerous threats we all face on the web is simpler than you might think: 🎣Phishing scams. 🎣 In these attacks, a scammer will typically create a convincing replica of a real website and bait you into entering important information (like your username and password) into the site. I know how easy these are to fall for, because I’ve worked on anti-phishing for over a decade and I fell for one myself! A friend of mine had her email hacked and sent out a very convincing but fake invitation to a birthday party. At @googlechrome we’re working hard to take the guesswork out of spotting phishing attacks, malware and other scams with Safe Browsing warnings that look like this:

We’re rolling out our brand new model, Gemini 4 Argon, to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in Gemini in Chrome on desktop. Chrome is a primary workspace for deep, multi-tab research, and 4 Argon is uniquely built to handle those highly complex, real-world tasks. For example, in a complicated travel planning scenario, the team tested 4 Argon and saw: 🚗 Better multi-step planning: It does an even better job respecting every constraint from your prompt, like budgets, vehicle limits, or daily drive times, and optimizing end-to-end plans around all of them at once. 🎯 Stronger attention to detail: It scans through every detail from each tab to surface the fine print that’s easy to miss, accurately navigating complex dates, seasonal closures, and buried restrictions with links to the exact source. 📊 Richer presentation: Instead of plain text or tables, it creates clean, scannable layouts, interactive charts, and visual place cards to help you make an informed decision. Excited for you to try it! Learn more here: goo.gle/4yabXGo

We’re bringing agentic browsing in Chrome to our users in India! I’ve been using auto browse a bunch recently for things like approving expense reports and filling out forms. It’s pretty simple to use, just click “Ask Gemini” on the top right of your screen on Desktop and ask it to do something for you. [Note: only available for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers at the moment]
Smarter browsing is coming to more Android users! 🤖💡 Gemini in Chrome is now live for @Android users across India! Use it to condense long articles, integrate seamlessly with your go-to Google tools, and craft images directly inside your browser. Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers can also use auto browse to automate online chores like filling out forms or ordering groceries for the week.

If you're looking for a better way to study this school year, we have some awesome new features launching in Chrome to make learning easier. My personal favorite is that Gemini in Chrome can now generate interactive quizzes from any tab(s) you have open. So if you have an article open in one tab, and your own notes in another, you can ask Gemini to generate a custom set of questions for you. Just hit “Ask Gemini” in the top right and ask for a quiz about your current tab(s). This is rolling out now, and I'm excited to hear your feedback!
In case you missed it, Chrome’s three new features are here to help you make the most out of learning. @jebank, VP of Product, explains them here. 📚

I learned a ton from meeting with customers and partners today at our Enterprise summit. They have an exciting, but very difficult job! They need to sift through the endless sea of AI tools to figure out what's actually useful, and teach their organizations to use them. AND do this (1) in a very fast-moving environment, (2) while upholding rigorous security. Things like redacting sensitive information and blocking unapproved file downloads may not be the most exciting AI innovations that come to your mind, but those got the biggest applause of the keynote.

Can anyone put in me touch with someone on the partnerships team @Replit ? We have an idea for a Chrome <> Replit collaboration that would be cool to explore.

For my first post as the new product lead for @googlechrome, I thought it would be fun to share my actual setup and how I work in Chrome. I use vertical tabs and tab groups to keep everything organized. I have some tab groups for evergreen work (e.g. team management) and some for ephemeral projects (e.g. a big presentation). I color code evergreen work as…. green. My most important projects are red, and other tasks are yellow or orange. If you haven’t used vertical tabs or tab groups yet, give them a try and send me some feedback!

Is Opus 4.7 dumber and worse at calling tools? Nope, but it interprets prompts much more literally, and if there's a flaw, it will punish you. One could consider the lack of common sense as regression, but it's by design and can be steered. For every release: Read the notes!

Should I leave my stable job to start a company? When Block lays off nearly half its workforce and the FAANGs are all doing rolling layoffs you might start wondering: is it possible that a 10-person, profitable startup could turn out to be *more* secure? On today’s Startup Dad I talked with @jebank about leaving Google when his daughter was 6 months old to start @relay. I thought that sounded risky; Jacob didn’t. After talking to him I’m inclined to agree. Ask yourself these three questions: -> Can you afford 2x the runway you think you need? -> Will this role actually grow your skills, or just your salary? -> Do you control your time, or does your calendar control you? For him the conclusion was: start a company. Then he learned through the process that small teams are actually *better* for parents than big companies. His 10-person team has zero standing meetings. Everyone's senior. Everyone's a parent. Work happens async (mostly). Our conversation was filled with other amazing nuggets: his concept of “double dipping” for turning chores into quality time with your kids, how to bring your kids into your work problems to show them your world, and his “imagine if I did that” framework for handling tantrums. Listen or watch our full conversation on Startup Dad; you’ll find it on Youtube and everywhere you get your podcasts.

🚀 Today we’re launching a brand new @relay! If you want an AI team that works for you, now’s the time to start. Here’s what makes our AI agents different: Anyone can create agents. You work with AI agents just like you work with people. You ask your agent to do things for you and give it feedback to get better. No code, JSON, terminal, or MCP needed. Agents are predictable and reliable. You teach your agent skills with simple prompts, and it turns those into easily understandable, consistent workflows. Plus, your agent can keep a human-in-the-loop for anything high stakes. No random actions you can’t explain. To try it out, head over to @relay and get started for free. I can’t wait to hear your feedback. p.s. like and RT to get a bonus code for 500 extra AI credits per month for a year. 🙏
