We’ve raised $2B at a $48B valuation, since our last round a few months ago, we've gone from $492M to near $900M, the era of self-driving software has begun Devin has gotten even more awesome in this same time period. From adding security swarm, Devin Automations, auto-triage, iOS/Windows/Android support, and a whole assortment of other features, the experience feels more robust than ever. Our customers are our best product managers, we work very closely and deeply understand their business and problems, and implement new features and fixes faster than ever It’s been a privilege working with some of the most talented people on the planet. I'm humbled to be on this ride and look forward to continue building the future of software engineering
The world needs far more software than it can build. Cognition exists to change that. We’ve just raised over $2B at a $48B valuation, led by a16z, Accel, Founders Fund, General Catalyst, and Avenir. Since our round in May, run-rate revenue has grown from $492 M to almost $900 M.

Today was one of the biggest days in cybersecurity reporting and incidents with PHP, node.js, Gitlab, and more As such, we’ve open sourced an agent plugin that can be used to help patch these. These can also be used in Devin We’re also giving significant credits to our Enterprise users so that they can focus on remediating these. Devin is uniquely effective here since it can validate that other parts of your applications are still working after the changes Going forward stay safe, this problem won’t go away but you can put things in place to defend against it

There are actually a lot of reasons why we're able to get the top score for cheaper There's simply no single model that is the best at all tasks for the price. By figuring out what tasks different models are good at, we could be beating certain tasks even from cheaper models vs. frontier models. However this does come at the cost of swapping models and refreshing the prompt cache This is why Devin Fusion is awesome, it tries to maintain the cache as long as possible while working in parallel with cheaper models. It's able to also verify and fix the final output with frontier models, many routers fail to do this final step as well
Devin Fusion has claimed a top score of 68 on the @ArtificialAnlys Coding Agent Index with an Opus 5.5 lead and GPT-6 Luna sidekick. Devin Fusion outperforms Claude Code with Opus 5.5 on both performance and price – earning a score of 68 at a 31% lower cost per task.

Today we're rolling out new cost controls Right now one of the biggest mistakes organizations make is impose hard spending caps across teams and individuals. What this does is negatively impact those who are super users and productive engineers. We've figured out a way to solve this problem: First, we score how efficient each engineer is based on their sessions, this allows dynamic caps. With an engineer who's churning a lot of high impact PRs, you want them to automatically have more tokens. We think this is the proper way to manage caps, reward your most productive engineers! Second, we're releasing the ability for Devin Coach to teach each user how to be more efficient before running a session. This has been tremendously helpful for teaching users how to properly use Devin as well You can enable auto-approvals today, only on the Enterprise plan.
What if your AI budget went to the engineers who use it best? Blanket usage caps are a hiring freeze in disguise. Introducing efficiency-based auto-approvals for your most productive engineers, plus Devin Coach to help everyone get there. devin.ai/blog/efficiency-bas…

We productized how we handle incidents, bug reports, and alerts at @cognition with Devin Oncall. It’s completely changed how we work and also how we think about incident management and SRE. From investigations, to reproductions, to triage, rollout, root cause analysis and even postmortems, we do it all with Devin. Excited to share this with the world.
Introducing Devin Oncall: Devin automatically investigates alerts and bugs, helping your team diagnose and resolve production incidents. Devin Oncall already handles thousands of alerts every day for some of the world’s largest companies. Let it become your SRE today.

One of the most underrated characteristics of Devin is being delightful to work with, as any coworker should be
Had to turn off CLAUDE TAG in SLACK... as a usage-based product, it was burning far too many tokens. Is there a better, more flat-rate solution inside Slack that anyone recommends? SLACKBOT doesn't work like an agent inside of Slack for some reason... and i just don't like giving my data to frontier labs. is there a hosted LLM / agent platform we can contain in SLACK yet or do i have to roll my own?

Devin now works in Pylon, which can automatically investigate tickets for fixes and even automatically work on some of them all the way to PR. Imagine a world where Devin can automatically have things investigated or fixed by the time a human touches the ticket We're giving $15k to new Devin customers that use this and we're giving code search for free! Try this out today
Introducing Devin in Pylon: Accelerate your Median Time to Fix (MTTF), with $15,000 in credits for new Devin customers.

When you go to sleep, your brain works at night to reinforce learnings and neural pathways, while getting rid of things that are taking up space. When you wake up, you're refreshed and can better retrieve the right information from your memory (i remember what it's like when i was sleep deprived) That's what we strived to do with Memory and Dreaming, available today. At night Devin will do something similar, clean up stale records and dedupe things that aren't useful, while making sure to remember what's important about the sessions and your own preferences. We think this might be a great way of creating memory with these agents, and we're open sourcing this spec for others to use as well
Introducing Dreaming: Across sessions, Devin builds a memory graph of how you like to work At night Devin self-improves its memory to remove stale records and discover latent information We are creating an OSS standard called Agent Memory Repo: cognition.com/agent-memory-r…

Hey Matan - CEO of Cognition here. I respect the work you have done at Factory but your allegations here about Cognition are not true. We have no interest in Factory’s info and Chris has never brought it up. He has not shared and would never share any information about you or Factory with our team, nor would we ever ask. Similarly, we would never ask our engineers or anyone on our team to collect info about any competitor under-the-table. Chris is an advisor to at least 10 companies, and he told you he was resigning as an advisor on Monday. The truth is we both wanted Chris and for good reason - he is a living legend with an unmatched reputation for results and integrity. Not only is he the only person who has built a sales org from the first sales hire to over 3B, he also has built incredible teams that he cares deeply about. His people love working for him. Again, I have a lot of respect for what you’ve built, but competing with integrity doesn’t include posts like yours.
We are terminating Chris Degnan for unethical conduct involving Cognition. The last few months have seen incredible progress in AI capabilities. San Francisco has flourished as new companies that solve new, more ambitious problems are finding great success. Generally, it is a wonderful time to be building. We at @FactoryAI have seen overwhelming interest in our model-agnostic coding agents and our software factory product. Our team has 10x’d in size, while our revenue has 100x’d year over year. This momentum has been unprecedented. A much larger competitor, Cognition (makers of Devin) has fallen behind us on the capabilities that matter most to customers: cost, quality, and security. Instead of competing in the market, Cognition engineers feigned interviews with us to pry information about our product. Not finding what they were looking for, Cognition has decided to throw their weight and money at people with direct knowledge of our most confidential plans. It feels as though ethics is being thrown out of the window in the AI era. People are willing to do anything, including exploiting privileged information and violating ethical boundaries. I think this is unique to our time, and I don’t think it’s right. Integrity still matters. Yesterday, I made the decision to immediately terminate Christopher Degnan’s roles as a Board Observer and Advisor to Factory, after over a year of service. Prior to this decision, Chris told me he had a casual conversation with an executive at Cognition AI. When I questioned his intentions, he reassured me that ethics aside, he had “made too much money” and was “too lazy to go work for Cognition,” which I trusted and believed. On Monday, Chris spent time advising the Factory team on a handful of confidential board-level matters. That evening, he called me to say that the conversation that was initially described as casual and one-off was actually formal and recurring. For weeks, while he sat in our board meetings and advised our leadership team, he was also confiding with executives of our largest competitor. Chris was subject to confidentiality obligations in connection with his work with Factory. We do not know the extent of the information he shared, but it puts his timely questions about our product roadmap and what the parity gap involves into a new light. It is sad to sever a relationship with someone who has been a trusted advisor - and even a close friend - for over a year. But Chris’s conduct is unacceptable to me. Trust in Board Membership is one of the sacred bonds in the Silicon Valley, one that helps the startup ecosystem thrive. With it comes an enormous responsibility. That trust was violated. Competition is good. I respect and in many cases admire our competitors. San Francisco is a beautiful, singular place where the bold and ambitious go to defy the norms and precedents of the past. But certain principles that must remain. Violating ethics to seek advantage turns what should be positive-sum into zero-sum. We all love technology. And we all love to compete. But we must hold ourselves to a higher standard. The future of software engineering comes with abundance that will impact every person on Earth. Building that future comes with immense responsibility. We must build and compete with integrity.

Very excited to welcome Chris Degnan (follow at @cwdegnan) to Cognition, where he will join as CRO Previously Chris scaled Snowflake as CRO where he joined as the first rep
We’re thrilled to welcome Chris Degnan as our Chief Revenue Officer to help us scale globally and build the future of software. Chris joined Snowflake as its first sales hire. Over the next decade, he scaled alongside the company and grew into Snowflake’s CRO, driving over $3B in ARR and building one of the most iconic sales organizations in tech. He’s a world-class leader that builds winning teams, executes with relentless rigor, and focuses on what’s right for customers. We’re also excited to partner with Chad Peets and the RPT team to build Cognition’s GTM team. Chad was Chris’ co-pilot in building Snowflake’s world-class sales team. Welcome to Cognition, Chris.

Alex is one of the best in the industry, he was CISO at Facebook, SentinelOne, and Yahoo, all during the formidable years. He also teaches cybersecurity at Stanford! I've had the pleasure of knowing him prior to joining, and am super happy to have him on board. I think right now the public has vastly underestimated how important security is, even with all the stories of agent swarms and breaches. It's more important than ever to boost our internal security and create/improve our products to focus on it as well
There are real safety and security issues raised by AI, but they can be fixed. It's time to get to work instead of freaking out. That's why I'm joining Cognition as CISO.
