At least there is this in #Florida
Looks like the local conservation initiatives that were on the ballot in 7 Florida counties will all pass with widespread support, with all above 70% in favor (with most precincts reporting) By my count, more than 827,000 Floridians voted for local conservation

More absurd phosphate industry dumping in #Florida to make their problem OUR problem
Mosaic has applied to dig two exploratory wells at its Riverview phosphate processing plant that inject treated wastewater far underground. The mining company would use it to get rid of water in emergencies, such as major storms and hurricanes. wusf.org/environment/2026-11…

RIP Allison DeFoor. Allison did a lot for #Florida's environment and I really enjoyed working with him over the decades. RIP
Jacksonville has lost a remarkable public servant and a true son of Florida. Allison DeFoor shined in roles ranging from prosecutor to priest to a leader in conservation. Throughout his remarkable life he was always guided by a deep love for this state and its people. I extend my deepest condolences to his wife Randy, the North Florida Land Trust, and all who loved him. 📸: NFLT

First $485k. Then $65k. Now $250k. The settlements with employees fired for comments about Charlie Kirk keep mounting. So do legal bills - at up to $925/hr. There’s a real cost to taxpayers to the state’s war on speech in the “Free State of Florida" orlandosentinel.com/2026/10/…

Why people should discern the SOURCE of their news.
Was watching a Trump voters focus group in Florida where one participant told another about the Hope Florida scandal, and people in the group reacted with shock. "Why didn't that get more press and why isn’t anyone facing charges?!" was one reaction. Why people should read news.

An 18-year veteran of the US Department of the Interior has resigned in protest from the sprawling federal agency, denouncing “a deeply troubling assault on the rule of the law” that took place at the department under Donald Trump. New 🧵: You may recall that Republican leaders in Tallahassee spent $80 million of taxpayer money last year to buy 4 acres of land from a big GOP donor. Well, now top Florida Republicans — including James Uthmeier and Byron Donalds — are raising money from that same donor...
