Joe Glenn’s sharp mind is fading. The way he made people feel will not

In February, Casey Glenn shared via social media his father's Alzheimer's diagnosis, a cruel twist for the coach whose memory was always sharp as a tack.

I stepped out of the office to take this in today. It was good to hear about Bob Burns and great to see some old friends, Stu and Jeremy.

What a fun afternoon hearing from @stuwhitney at Yankton Community Library, discussing his book ‘The Great Burns.’ Thank you, Stu, for making the trip down!

Bob Burns began his coaching career at Yankton High in 1947 after returning from the war in Europe. Much later in life, he successfully led O’Gorman against the Max Hawk-coached Bucks in the 1981 state finals at the DakotaDome, the first of two such clashes. Much to talk about!

A friend to many (including me), former @MMULancers coach and athlete Albert Fernandez passed away Saturday after a long battle with cancer. This is an article @RDockendorf wrote shortly after Albert left for Austin for the first of many treatments. yankton.net/community/articl…

Agreed, Brad. You’ll never beat the atmosphere of 7,000 - or whatever it was - in the Dome that day. That was wild.

It would be awesome but it won't beat the first NIT title....that was special. I think it's my favorite Coyote sports moment of all time. There's a pretty tight top 5 list though...lol.

This is a culture issue. Athletic departments that promote multi-sport athletes lead to student athletes developing a stronger sense of community/shared identity. Kids should have a favorite sport they love… but go compete for your school-wherever you can.
