The Newton’s farm has faced serious impacts from the expansion of gasfields in the area. Damian Fairbairn Damian is from Wieambilla near Tara and is an impacted gasfield resident. Damian’s family live in a producing gasfield and live with the day to day operations of gas extraction around them. John Jenkyn John is a former resident of Wieambilla near Tara. John’s family faced multiple and sustained impacts whilst living in the gasfield. His experience and depth of knowledge is expansive. Brian Monk Brian is a landholder from Kogan and a long term resident of the Western Darling Downs. His family and property have been directedly impacted by the gas industry. His experience and depth of knowledge is expansive. Hey @originenergy @APLNG - can you tell us why you are installing pumpjacks (is that what they are?!?!) on coal seam gas wells on the Western Darling Downs, is there a problem with the wells? Some transparency would be good and there is nothing on yr websites. Maybe add a fact sheet about this new infrastructure to help people understand your operations. Thanks! Ps this one is at the top of Fairymeadow Rd. The well is listed on globe as being plugged & abandoned?

Here is a coal seam gas rig drilling for @Shell_Australia QGC business that has been terrorizing the Mary Road, #Wieambilla neighbourhood for 4 nights in a row. Will the locals get any sleep tonight? There is no situation in which #unconventionalgas should be permitted to be extracted from closely settled areas. There is no transparency from QGC, no communication to help mentally prepare residents for the torture of feeling your house vibrate & shake around you while the freight train that never arrives leaves you in a state of nervous exhaustion. Further. The ‘commercial benefits’ of our natural resources, if ever realised, should NEVER come at the expense of Australians health, wellbeing and the destruction of places people call home. It’s wrong and anyone wanting ‘commercial benefits’ over and above the ‘living standards’ of people forced, through no fault of their own, to co-locate with the gas industry is just as greedy as a shareholder. Check yourself, if you are calling for a tax and not paying attention to the massive social justice issue unfurling in south west Queensland then you are part of the problem. Yes I’m pissed.
