On Saturday, we marched through Abuja for the 86 million+ Nigerians still living without electricity.
After 66 years of independence, power can’t be an afterthought at election time. Solar gives us the chance to close that gap. Every candidate must seize it.

Today, the @FmstNg Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology inaugurated a 16-member Inter-Agency Committee to develop a coordinated regulatory framework and safety standards for solar photovoltaic systems and lithium-ion battery storage across Nigeria.
Nigeria’s transition to renewable energy must be built on safety, quality and public confidence.
As we expand access to clean and reliable energy, we must also address the risks associated with improper installation, substandard equipment, unsafe operation and inadequate disposal practices.
Through this initiative, we are strengthening inter-agency collaboration, promoting standards compliance, and working towards appropriate certification and licensing frameworks for solar installers. Our objective is clear: to ensure that the deployment of renewable energy technologies protects lives and property while supporting innovation, economic growth and environmental sustainability.
Under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, we remain committed to advancing science, technology and innovation as drivers of national development.
*A sustainable energy future must also be a safe energy future.*

Together with our #SolarPowerNigeria partners, we raised our concerns, and the Government responded positively- No Ban
An outright import ban would undermine access to affordable solar energy for millions of Nigerians. We must expand access while investing in local manufacturing of quality solar panels, batteries and accessories.

The Federal Government has put the immediate ban on imported solar panels on hold until local production can meet demand.
"We can't ban solar panel importation if we can't produce locally." Minister @KingsleyUdehSAN on NTA.
A welcome development.
