Cisco recommends 17.9.4 + SMU + APSP2 Catalyst 9800 release for all deployments
Obviously, always review Release Notes, but 17.9.4 with SMU and AP Service Pack 2, which has an important fix for CW ROW domain access points, is the new recommended release:

Attention #Cisco9800 admins 17.9.3 is the current recommended release from the mothership @CiscoNetworking . The only blessed release with support for both wave 1 & wave 2 APs, as well as WiFi6E / 6GHz support! Used in #healthcare, #stadiums, and #industrial clients with @active_expert a couple UI bugs, but solid performance thus far. #HighlyRecommend @jiribrejcha @mrncciew @samuel_clements @KeithRParsons @CiscoChampion
