Be warned - if the police have reasonable grounds to suspect you might be the sort of person who'd hand a bottle of water to an elderly lady holding a sign - they have the power to order you out of central London today.
A Section 35 dispersal order will be in place in parts of central London from 8am to 11pm today.
This is following information that a group are planning to attend an event and express support for a proscribed organisation, which is an offence under the Terrorism Act.
The order will apply to the area outlined in the below map and means officers can order a person to leave the area or face arrest, where certain conditions apply.
Updates on today's policing operation will be posted on this thread.

This is the slightly more genteel, Green Party version of what the PLP, Labour Together and the party bureaucracy did to Corbyn.
This isn't complicated. If every time large numbers of, primarily young, idealistic people become enthused by politics and seek to engage in the political process you tell them go away, you are not wanted and call them entryists - it is really, really bad for democracy.

Italians refuse to stay silent and sit idle in the face of a genocide and the normalisation of war.
The global awakening has started and so the peaceful uprising against the globalisation of Apartheid.
Together we are ONE, standing for peace, human rights & love for one another.
🇮🇹 Tens of thousands of workers, students, truckers and farmers marched in more than 40 Italian cities on Friday in a general strike against soaring living costs, rearmament and European support for wars in the Middle East, including the genocide in Gaza, according to Italian news agency Adnkronos.
Police counted 30,000 in Milan, where marchers shut down the eastern ring road for three hours, while organizers claimed over 100,000, according to Italian broadcaster TGCom24. A speaker in Turin put the crowd there at more than 50,000. The grassroots union USB, which called the strike, claimed 2 million nationwide showed up to challenge Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's "war economy."
Protesters blocked the port in Genoa with burning tires, TGCom24 reported, and marched into Naples port, demanding that ports not be used to move "weapons, ammunition, military equipment and troops." In Rome, police charged about 300 students who threw stones and Molotov cocktails. At least 10 officers were injured in Mestre and Vicenza, according to Adnkronos.
Transport Minister Matteo Salvini had ordered rail, air, sea and transit workers to stay on the job, but the order was dismissed by USB as "illegitimate."

The same story about Scotland and it is still told and - worse - believed. The voluntary union is an English/British lie.
Replying to @MarioNawfal
Respectfully Mario, that graphic is very misleading
Ireland and Britain did not ‘unite’ in 1801.
After yet another attempt at independence by Ireland in 1798, Britain sought to get rid of the Irish parliament once and for all and subsume Ireland.
It bribed Irish politicians to vote their Parliament out of existence - forcing Ireland into an unwanted and undemocratic union.
Irish Catholics, the vast majority, had highly limited voting rights and weren’t allowed to sit in Parliament.
The parliament did not represent the people.
The first time the Irish majority could vote, they voted for ‘Home Rule’ parties - reverting the enforced Union of 1801 tone-establish an Irish Parliament
There has never been a voluntarily Union between Britain and Ireland.
Irish identity long predates the concept, and had always had a majority wanting to remain independent
Anyone who loves democracy should support the concept of restoring the whole of the island of Ireland to the Irish
There were never meant to be fabricated national boundary lines on this island

This is an absurd and outrageous decision.
What kind of society are we living in where world-renowned authors and campaigners are treated as enemies and threats? The real threat is this government’s assault on freedom of expression.
This is not an isolated incident — and the government should know that it is gaining a bad reputation for censorship and repression.
We know why the government has taken this decision: because it wants to silence criticism of Israel, as well as its own complicity in genocide. It will not succeed.
The leading advocate for climate justice and Palestinian rights has been blocked from coming to the UK by the Home Office. Politicians, academics and writers have condemned this outrageous act of censorship.

All for speaking out against Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people.
This is Andy Burnham’s Britain.
An authoritarian Labour government that continues to arm a genocide while criminalising those who dare to oppose it.
Shame on them all.

“These are my principles. If you don’t like them, well, I have others.”
For more than a year, Rupert Lowe made trial by jury one of his signature causes. When the Labour government proposed moving most Crown Court cases to judges sitting alone, few politicians were louder in opposition.
“Jury trials help to protect the British people from an increasingly two-tier justice system,” he posted in July 2025, asking why the government was “so terrified of decent British people sitting on juries”.
In November: “We must defend the jury trial. That is absolutely vital.” In December, scrapping jury trials was “pure legal vandalism” and “a thundering disgrace”.
In January 2026 he praised the Labour MP Karl Turner for “leading the way on jury trials”. In March he announced: “I just voted in Parliament to protect jury trials.”
He also put his name to something more considered. On 26 November 2025, Lowe was among the signatories of a letter to David Lammy, led by Robert Jenrick and Kemi Badenoch, urging the government not to abolish the right to be tried by one’s peers. Juries, the letter argued, are “a safety valve in a free society”. Without them, “communities will feel judged by a distant establishment”. And then the line that matters most: “When a jury speaks, the public accepts the verdict even when it is unpopular, because it is their neighbours who have decided.”
Three months later, Lowe co-authored Restore Britain’s policy paper “Retaking the English Castle”, which commits the party to preserving trial by jury in all criminal cases. The paper praises juries for keeping the law “responsive to the ordinary conscience”, and singles out a jury that acquitted a former Royal Marine charged after the Southport murders “within a mere 17 minutes, showing heroic contempt for the prosecutors”.
On 19 October 2026, Tommy Robinson went on trial at Southwark Crown Court, charged with two counts of harassment causing fear of violence. Opening the case, prosecutor Ben Holt told jurors that Robinson had used “bully-boy, intimidatory tactics” against two journalists, Andrew Young and Jacob Dirnhuber, after the Daily Mail reported on him holidaying in Cyprus while riots spread across Britain in August 2024.
The jury heard that Robinson sent messages including “I’ll be knocking at your door” and “let your bosses know I’m coming to all of your houses”, and that photographs of Young’s wife and children were posted on his @X account. Dirnhuber had to move house. Young was given a close protection officer.
The judge, Mr Justice Cavanagh, was explicit with the jury: “This is not a trial about or an assessment of the defendant’s political views.”
On 28 October, after more than eleven hours of deliberation, nine men and three women convicted Robinson on both counts by a majority of ten to two. He faces up to ten years in prison and will be sentenced on 16 December. Robinson called the verdict “insane”.
Lowe’s response came within hours: “it is my view that the system has, again, treated him unfairly. We live in dark times.” Robinson, he added, “has not been treated fairly by our establishment for many years, and today is the latest example of that.”
Restore Britain’s paper celebrated a jury that acquitted in 17 minutes as heroic. This jury took more than eleven hours, and Lowe called the result unfair.
The wording is careful. Lowe never mentions the jury. He blames “the system”, “our establishment” and “the state”, abstractions that let his readers hear “the verdict was unfair” without him ever criticising the ordinary people who reached it. Yet the letter he signed made the opposite case: juries are what stop communities feeling judged by a distant establishment. Robinson was not convicted by a remote official or by the kind of “Left-liberal” judge Restore Britain’s paper warns about. He was convicted by twelve of his fellow citizens, through the very safeguard Lowe spent a year defending.

Lady in stripes, "What about the troubles inside our own country?"
"It was Nigel Farage who responded to misinformation about stabbings by saying that people should respond with cold hard rage"
"There were race riots in 2024, I had black and brown friends who were scared to leave the house"
"And there was a massive racial bias with Brexit pushing people to vote in certain ways"
Fiona Bruce, "And when it comes to freedom of movement with the EU would you welcome that?"
Lady in stripes, "I would welcome Freedom of Movement. I was only 16 when the vote happened"
"Many adults I spoke to voted for Brexit and then regretted it because they voted on it based on lies"
"There was also the Cambridge Analytica scandal"
"I'm firmly of the belief that the Brexit vote was not democratic and that we should have another referendum"
My view:
She is right to challenge the idea that Britain’s problems begin at its borders. The rhetoric used by politicians at home has consequences too.
When false claims about violence are amplified and people are urged to channel their anger, the damage does not stop when the headlines move on.
The 2024 riots left many people frightened in their own communities, including people who felt targeted because of their race.
Her argument about Brexit also deserves to be heard. A generation too young to vote has lived with the consequences, while many people who did vote later said they regretted it.
The Cambridge Analytica scandal raised further questions about how personal data was used in the campaign.
That alone does not prove the result was changed, but it deepened public concern about the way the debate was conducted.
If the case for Brexit still stands, let the public judge it again—with the consequences visible and the facts in front of them.

It's after a day of mixed messaging from the government on a timeline to get the total bill down.
