How do we know enviro groups want to kill the bill, not just improve it?
They admitted it in leaked phone calls!
"We really have to have a pretty clear agreement by all parties that this is an effort to stop this bill, not to make it better"

If the Dems win in Alaska and Mississippi, it will be its largest Senate majority in 36 yrs. Now to offer a real agenda. Not posing, as Jeffries and Schumer are. They are boring and vacant. No charisma, automatons. Not leaders. Dump them.

“Woke up to MSNow doing a Prop Piece on Hakeem Jeffries. Looks like everyone is more intent on making the story about him being the first black house speaker than listening to what the people want. I used to be a supporter of his but just feel he’s same old same old. He didn’t endorse Mamdani. He didn’t speak out in support of El Sayed.
Never Forget that BAFFLING MOMENT IN April 2024, Congress had an opportunity to strengthen Americans’ privacy protections by requiring warrants for certain searches of their communications collected through federal surveillance. The amendment failed in a 212 to 212 tie. Jeffries voted AGAINST it. Had he voted yes it would have passed.
Think about that. The Democratic leader had an opportunity to protect a fundamental civil liberty and chose otherwise. 🤷♀️
So before the media starts celebrating the historic possibility of our first Black House Speaker, I’d like to know exactly what kind of leadership we’re celebrating?
Per a friend of mine. “I’d like to know details of why he’d meet privately with f jarod kushner?”

The more we learn about the Scott Colom senate campaign the more we discover this was on the greatest campaigns in political history.
Fascinating organizing tactic by the @scott_colom field campaign to stop knocking doors and start organizing workers who weren't being reached through traditional methods
Kinda reminds me of Bernie with the meatpackers in Iowa

My issue with Jeffries is that he is a congressmen cut of the cloth of the past 30-40 years of failed policies and weak spineless bullshit. We need a purely departmentalist speaker. Congress hasn't had a fully departmentalist leadership since the 1930s, which btw was the most successful and most popular congress of all time. they passed social security, national labor relations act and wagner act, works progress administration, civilian conservation corps, tennessee valley authority, glass-steagall act, securities act, repealed prohibition.
in short, they created safety nets for the middle class, modernized and industrialized the country, and stabilized capitalism under a system of regulation that lead to huge economic growth and prosperity on a level never seen before in world history.
That is the leadership we need. Someone willing to take the full power of congress and wield it to the maximum extent allowed by law. To claw back power from the courts, and to limit the role of the president.

Senator-elect @AbdulElSayed: I’m going to look at every Trump nominee and give them a fair shake. I’m going to assume that I won’t support you until you show me otherwise, the bar is extremely high.
Fox host: I don’t think that’s very unreasonable. I’m not sure why we played that. I think that was fine. There was nothing wrong with that. He says he’s going to give them a fair shake.

Who stayed home in the midterms?
Republicans.
But many of them would have voted Democratic if they’d shown up.

Axios: House Democrats "inundated" with anti-Jeffries calls
Democratic House members and members-elect are being bombarded with phone calls and emails urging them not to elect Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) as speaker, more than a dozen lawmakers and aides tell Axios.
An incoming House Democrat told Axios they are "getting inundated" and have received "about 150" calls since the election urging them not to vote for Jeffries.

When you call your reps to say NO to Jeffries and Schumer it is crucial to say that they CANNOT be replaced with someone who has the same policies on Israel/Palestine and who is against Medicare for All. This must be the litmus test: Not just new blood, new policies.
I called my Representative and Senators and told them that they should oppose Jeffries and Schumer for leadership roles. It took five minutes, please do the same.
Here's a simple script for you:
"Hello, my name is [your name, then spell it], I’m a constituent in [zip code]. I want [Representative/Senator Name] to oppose [Jeffries/Schumer] in leadership for the new Congress and support someone new. We need new blood and stronger leaders for this once in a generation opportunity that we have."
