What an outrageous tweet! This is the tweet of someone unfit to sit in Parliament. A pointless talentless grifting nonentity! Absolutely clueless
Pity the French did not show the same resolve in defending their sovereignty in June 1940.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
About 90,000–100,000 French soldiers were killed during the Battle of France (May–June 1940), when Germany invaded. Around 92,000 is the figure most commonly cited. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of…

A special memory of Ciara Mageean. Bumping into her aunt and friends going into the Stadio Olimpico the night she won European gold two years ago. Always the support, always the ❤️ Rest in peace Ciara.

Revisiting my UTV interview with Ciara Mageean just now, underscored what an extraordinary human being we have lost, wise beyond her years, generous of spirit with an outstretched hand to all. The young of this island have been robbed of a born leader and model. Eamonn Mallie. @SorchaEastwood @MiriamOCal @Patrickielty @eamonnholmes

Something isn’t right when a celebrity can remain anonymous for months despite serious allegations against them, just because their lawyers have argued that publication would cause them distress.

James Cleverly is on a hiding to nowhere, running for London Mayor on Kemi Badenoch’s Brexit-denial position in a city where 67% want to rejoin the EU. Londoners know Brexit hasn’t delivered the promised benefits. Pretending otherwise is embarrassing.
🤦‍♀️ WATCH: @JamesCleverly who hopes to be London Mayor where 67% want to rejoin the EU 🤡 His extraordinary argument? Britain can’t rejoin the world’s largest trading bloc, with an estimated potential 6% boost to GDP, because we might have to leave a trade deal on the other side of the world worth about 0.08%. That’s a 75-fold difference. Why should Britain rule out a far bigger opportunity to protect one of Brexit’s tiniest claimed gains?

Oh dear. @Nigel_Farage’s golden idol has just been smashed.
"I don't go with the consensus that Trump is going to get smashed." Nigel Farage is joined by the Daily Wire's Michael Knowles as Americans head to the polls in the midterm elections.

Exactly. Leave a customs union means you resurrect customs borders. The UK did so with 28 others. Leave a single market of regulations means you resurrect regulatory borders. The UK did so with 31 others. Thus adding both of these to those the UK already has with *all* the world's countries... Customs & regulatory borders between different customs & different regulated territories are the hardest of "frictions" & barriers to trade & growth. All Brexits were thus always going to fuck over & shrink the UK economy
