Can AI design a custom home? I spent last year as the developer for my own project to find out. Short answer: No. It can’t draw. Longer answer: It completely changed the process.

AI is great at what comes after the permit set. I used a team of Gemini AI agents to generate 100 pages of specs (which nobody will ever read) and then translate them into construction drawings to staple to a stud. This is the real UI for the builders.
