I’ve decided to take a leap of faith and make this the first place I share something personal. After a long stretch of work, reflection, and reckoning, I’ve written a book about the truth I grew up inside of, and the secret that was kept from me. If you’d like to pre-order you can do so here: pat-hicks-books.myshopify.co…

Judge David Carter: "Never before in American history has the federal government, on the eve of an election, sought to coerce a state and local government to abandon their own Constitutional elections procedures and bend to the will of the Executive Branch. In bringing this lawsuit, the Executive would have this Court believe that it reigns as a sole sovereign. But California and its people are sovereign, too."

Spare me the complaints about Virginia's new districts. This is my new district in Texas. Unlike VA, I wasn't able to vote on it. The blue area is a very diverse part of the Dallas suburbs that was carved out & threw in with a bunch of rural (red) voters as far as 180 miles away!

I know her. I can't tell you how I know her because it would give too much personal information away. However, I can tell you she grew up and lives in the Dallas area. There are a lot of deniers in the responses but they're going to be surprised on election day. She is not alone.
BREAKING: In a jaw dropping moment, a Republican voter announces her support for James Talarico. "I have voted Republican for many, many years, but this midterm election, we need a change”

So let me get this straight… a corrupt foreign criminal fleeing his country gets a US visa but the law-abiding construction worker who’s been here for 20 years contributing to our society gets deported

Texas is LONG OVER DUE for a Latina Governor!
What an honor it would be to be the first governor from the Rio Grande Valley.

OBAMA: The president wasn't even mad. About The Saddam Hussein comparison. That part didn't bother him. But he was very upset about The Cheesecake Factory. He took great umbrage. He said I didn't understand the work of the artisans in the White House. They mobilized a whole of government response to that joke. Not to inflation, but to that joke.

3 more days of early voting, y’all!! Let’s send Abbott, Paxton, and Patrick packing!!
The way to counter Republicans trying to cheat, by removing polling locations, is to vote early. In Texas you can vote at ANY early-voting location within the county where you’re registered, rather than being restricted to vote only at your designated precinct on Election Day. Early voting starts Monday, October 19 and ends Friday, October 30. You can vote on: ➡️ Mon–Fri, Oct. 19–23 ➡️ Saturday, Oct. 24 ➡️ Sunday, Oct. 25 ➡️ Mon–Fri, Oct. 26–30 Vote Early, y’all! I like to vote on the first early voting day. It makes me feel so good. Afterwards, I reward myself with a glass of wine for accomplishing something timely and not waiting till the last fucking minute. James Talarico for US Senate, remove Greg Abbott and Dan Patrick and BLUE down ballot. LET’S DO THIS!

Breaking: the FAA has shut down airspace over the Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site, with a notice calling it a “US Government Nuclear Incident.”
An event is in progress that has triggered emergency response activities at the Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site. This message is being sent to you as part of our emergency response organization information process.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The FAA NOTAM used standard terminology for a temporary restriction during a nuclear site incident; official updates confirm a contained lab fire was extinguished with no detectable off-site contamination and the Site Area Emergency was terminated. public.srs.gov/2026/10/savann… cnn.com/2026/10/28/us/…

If Abdul El-Sayed wanted Americans to die he would have joined ICE.
Sen. @tedcruz (R-TX) says that if U.S. Sen. candidate Abdul El-Sayed (D-MI) is elected into the Senate and is placed in the Senate Intelligence Committee, "there is a very real risk that Americans will die as a result."
