What an incredible afternoon for El Estoque and El Valedor to be named NSPA Pacemaker winners! I have the best job and work with talented, funny, passionate kiddos. #nhsjc 🎉💖🏆

Anushka De, my former editor-in-chief of @elestoque — who was the 2022 JEA Journalist of the Year — did a great job sharing with San Francisco convention attendees how journalism is hard, but so worth it. #nhsjc

We continued our pattern of inviting anyone and everyone to our ridiculously swanky hotel digs to enjoy the view, get a critique or find rest. #nhsjc – at San Francisco, CA

I tried to be in three places at once at 11 a.m., but decided to land in @elestoque graduate @CamInman ‘s fabulous session about navigating the journalism landscape from the beginning of his career through today, where he works as the San Francisco 49ers beat reporter. #nhsjc

It was inspiring to hear from Anushka De—my former @elestoque EIC and last year’s Journalist of the Year—as well as several of this year’s JOY winners. The future of journalism is looking bright. 😎 #nhsjc

I had fun chatting through how to cover controversial topics responsibly with this amazing crew of journalists this morning. #nhsjc As promised, here’s a link to the slides: drive.google.com/file/d/1xkf…

It was nice to connect with JEA Mentor Program Chair @AliciaMerrifie4 and other mentors at this afternoon’s session. #nhsjc #mentoringmatters

It was so special to meet my former JEA mentee for the first time in person. 🎉The amazing Jessica Castaneda advises Buena Speaks in SoCal. 💖 #nhsjc #mentoringmatters

We had lots of great conversations about Multimedia Tools & Packaging at the 11 a.m. #nhsjc session. 🤓 As promised, here’s a link to the session: drive.google.com/file/d/1A22…

I had a blast with this group sharing about how to approach Feature Writing Like a Boss. #nhsjc As promised, here’s a link to the session: drive.google.com/file/d/1wAh…

It was powerful to see a packed room of students meeting with professional journalists to hear about their experiences, ask questions and extend their network at the Break with a Pro sessions, organized by local team members Brian Wilson and Michael Moul. #nhsjc

It’s always good to hear updates about Board action and the future of JEA at the General Membership Meeting. I’m grateful to the leaders of our organization for moving the needle in terms of increasing diversity, engaging our membership and being fiscally responsible. #nhsjc

Definitely check out this @elestoque graduate’s session about how he’s adapted as a 21st Century journalist. I love following his reporting on Instagram too. @CamInman – at San Francisco, CA

The opening ceremony featuring the Glide Memorial choir and keynote speaker Peter Hartlaub was fantastic! #nhsjc – at San Francisco, CA
