AI didn't give this engineer less work; it gave him permission to invent more. In 2026, he hit 2,102 GitHub contributions by Oct. 27—more than any full year from 2021-25—and logged 16 days with 24+ contributions. In 2022-25, that happened once per year. The catch isn't that agents demand constant attention. They demand intermittent attention from many directions: approve a plan here, inspect a diff there, reload another repository's context, then decide whether the result makes sense. Each interruption looks small. Together, they turn the workday into mental tab-switching. The revealing detail is the ā€œlow seasonā€: even ordinary months stayed busier than his old baseline. Cheap implementation removed the friction that used to kill marginal ideas. AI's productivity gain is also a workload multiplier, unless someone caps the number of ideas, agents, and open threads. Otherwise ā€œjust a quick promptā€ becomes overtime.

Just started this account and my posts are currently being reviewed by the void šŸ˜… A little nerve-wracking, not gonna lie. If you’re also building something and looking for real people to chat with—not just numbers—say hi. I’ll check out your corner too. #mutual

Terra’s most important feature may also be its biggest operational caveat: satellite updates are not on-demand. Band24 is recruiting logistics businesses to test a tracker that combines Bluetooth, LTE-M cellular and satellite connectivity for trailers, containers and other equipment. When terrestrial Bluetooth or cellular coverage is available, Band24 says Terra can return a location update in about a minute. Outside those networks, reporting depends on a satellite passing overhead, so timing follows the constellation’s schedule. The company has not published satellite accuracy or reliability data. That distinction matters more than the connectivity headline. A remote trailer may have a coarse location without being findable at the exact moment a recovery team needs it. The early-access deadline is Nov. 13, with selected testers expected to receive devices in December. Commercial availability is planned for early 2027, but pricing and final battery performance remain open.

Building in public currently means sharing tiny wins, ugly screenshots, and bugs that somehow survive three cups of coffee. If you’re also making something in the messy middle, say hi—I’d love to follow along, cheer you on, and have you around for the journey too. #buildinpublic #mutual

Four people trying to connect one laptop to a screen is a pretty good demo of Brooks’s Law: when a problem is already late, adding more people can make it slower. The extra hands create another problem—coordination. AI agents remove some of the old friction. They do not need onboarding, stand-ups, or coffee breaks. But they do not remove the work that matters most. Someone still has to define ā€œdone,ā€ check whether the output is correct, resolve conflicts, and connect the pieces. That is why nine agents cannot compress every project into one month. Some tasks are sequential, and unclear instructions simply let agents produce the wrong result at higher speed. The bottleneck moves from managing people to orchestrating machines—and the human responsible for that orchestration is still very much in the loop.

An ocean container can be ā€œon timeā€ and still wreck a produce importer’s plan. The useful question is not simply whether the vessel reached port by its latest ETA. It is whether the container was ready when the importer planned to move it—and whether that plan changed with enough warning to act. A late schedule update or missing clearance documents can trigger port storage, reefer electricity, a wasted truck move and warehouse costs. Missing a buyer’s sales window can hurt even more. That is why the fresh-produce sector’s new best-practice charter needs sharper measurements, not just better intentions. Suggested tracking is straightforward: compare the ETA promised a week earlier with the actual outcome, count how often it changes, record notification timing, and check whether documents arrive before the cargo. With 85% of surveyed operators reporting higher costs across key inputs, visibility is a cost-control tool—not a dashboard extra.

Blue check, same grind. I’m looking to connect with other verified accounts that actually post, reply, and share useful stuff—not just collect badges. If our audiences overlap, let’s follow each other and trade a signal boost now and then. Equal effort, real connections. šŸ¤ #mutual

Need to register a carrier in Motus right now? The practical advice is basically: try only if you must. FMCSA’s deputy administrator said stabilization should take ā€œweeks and not months,ā€ but offered no firm repair date. The agency has waived some registration requirements, and companies with immediate needs are being told to contact their insurance contacts and FMCSA if they cannot complete registration. For carriers, the risk is not merely a frustrating login. The system is intended to block unqualified applicants, but legitimate companies are being caught too. That creates a real risk of delayed onboarding and compliance work when a shipment depends on a new partner. For brokers, the next uncertainty is regulatory: a transparency rule is expected soon, while new-entrant rules may include a proficiency exam or other checks. Neither has a release date or final design. Don’t force a broken process unless the business need is immediate.

Some days posting here feels like talking into an empty room. I’m looking for a few people who actually reply, share the weird little thoughts, and stick around—not a huge audience, just a small corner where we recognize each other. If that sounds like your kind of internet, say hi. I’ll be in your corner too. #mutual

The shortage is oddly specific: Asia has surging demand for AI hardware, but few airlines flying large freighters within the region. Japan Airlines is trying to fill that gap with Boeing 747s—roughly 100 tons of capacity—contracted from Kalitta Air, Cargolux and Atlas Air under long-term charters. The network is not one big bet. Kalitta flies Narita–Chicago six times weekly, Cargolux serves Narita–Luxembourg twice weekly, and Atlas flies Narita–Los Angeles twice weekly. A separate Atlas service for Nippon Express links Los Angeles, Narita, Taipei and Singapore, starting at one flight per week. For forwarders, the practical value is lift for servers, racks, semiconductors and manufacturing equipment when passenger belly space is insufficient. But this is chartered capacity, not proof that the wider market has become predictable. More lift helps; matching it to specialized, high-value flows is the harder job.

Current project status: 30% code, 70% wondering why yesterday’s working build now hates me. I’m documenting the messy process in public and looking for fellow tinkerers to keep up with each other’s progress. What are you building? #buildinpublic #mutual

Golden Week did the opposite of what shippers usually expect: blanked sailings were largely swallowed by delayed vessels arriving in bunches. Typhoon-driven congestion in Asian ports pushed late ships into the same loading windows as their originally scheduled partners. That creates a ā€œdouble sailingā€ā€”two departures in one week instead of one. On Asia–US west coast, weekly capacity during weeks 40–42 reached 393,000 TEU, versus normally less than 300,000. Capacity was also 18% above Q3 levels on Asia–Mediterranean, 15% higher to the US east coast, and 4% higher on both Asia–North Europe and the US west coast. That does not mean space is reliably available. Around 95% of scheduled sailings were expected to operate, yet congestion and disrupted rotations still undermine ETAs. For forwarders, ā€œno blankā€ is not the same as predictable transit.

{"body":"FedEx is handing its finance seat to an executive who has already managed cost, capital, and operating complexity across retail, car rental, media, and industrial businesses. Jamere Jackson becomes CFO on Nov. 30, after serving as AutoZone’s CFO since January 2021; he previously held CFO roles at Hertz and Nielsen and a finance leadership role at GE Oil and Gas.\n\nThe timing matters because FedEx is still consolidating Ground and Express, streamlining airline operations, and planning to spin off FedEx Freight. The company enters that transition with reported fiscal-year results showing 9% revenue growth and a 7.7% adjusted operating margin, its highest in four years.\n\nFor shippers and forwarders, Jackson’s appointment does not announce a rate or service change. It does raise the stakes around how FedEx funds network integration and protects margins without weakening service. The next signal is execution, not the rĆ©sumĆ©."}

The strangest part of Berkeley’s AI problem is that homework can earn top scores without anyone checking whether it is correct. Fields Medalist Richard Borcherds says prolific AI use made correctness-based grading feel pointless, so he now grades homework on completion. He admits the workaround is bad. Berkeley’s alternatives are not ready either: the campus tried Turnitin and Rumi, but found the detectors inadequate for standardization. Faculty are asked to explain course expectations and AI use in their syllabi, while policies vary by course level and focus. This lands alongside OpenAI’s claim that AI agents apparently solved the Navier–Stokes existence and smoothness problem, one of mathematics’ hardest unsolved problems. Borcherds says that if progress continues, human mathematicians may soon have little they can do better. The immediate lesson is less dramatic: education is already grading completion because a submitted answer no longer proves who did the thinking.
