Here it is - the official, revised, peer-reviewed version of my Platonic Space paper. mdpi.com/2409-9287/11/5/161 Of all the many unpopular positions I’ve taken over the decades - bitter controversies around the origin of left-right asymmetry in embryogenesis, bioelectricity and genetics, diverse intelligence, etc., this one has by far generated the most pushback: serious (grateful for those!) and energetic attempts to move me to other views, pleas to just drop it and not talk about it (for several different reasons), nasty emails and accusations, impacts on reviews of papers that have nothing to do with this, etc. Kind of amazing to me how incendiary this is. What can I say... Our job is to call it as we see it, and right now for me, this is it. Apologies to collaborators and colleagues for any shrapnel! Time will tell if this pans out or not; I've placed my bets. And btw, if you think this stuff is weird and uncomfortable, just wait… There’s much more on the way. The knob turns slowly but as long as the data keep coming, I'm going to say what I think it all means and follow it to the next steps it enables. Buckle up!

A superpower in rapid decline, defeated by its own hubris and incompetence. Not necessarily because it lost this war militarily -what is far more detrimental is the irreversible loss of perceived invincibility and of the narrative.
Yes, the Iran war is the biggest blunder in US history, but the final nail in the coffin of US hegemony is not a mere military defeat. It is the complete destruction of its superiority and credibility by surrendering its sovereignty to special interests and foreign powers.
The end of US dominance started long ago when it turned itself into a political auction house. It started with Super PACs, Super Delegates and Citizens United -with Miriam Adelson, Benjamin Netanyahu and AIPAC.
And it will end with them.
The US today may be able to kidnap or assassinate political leaders, steal resources in broad daylight, and bomb schoolchildren, weddings, hospitals and universities. It can commit genocide and drop phosphorus bombs on the refugees it created inside an open-air concentration camp. It can project fear like a rogue terrorist entity. But it cannot pretend to be the good guy anymore. It cannot expect to be trusted anymore. It cannot influence its allies anymore. It cannot convince its own people.
And it will never again be able to convince young Americans to die in its illegal, horrendous wars.
US world domination is falling apart in real time.
Iran just accelerated the inevitable collapse.

One month ago today, this little article came out. I had no idea just how much it would upend my daily life. I’m deeply grateful to simple practices like ten minutes of daily reading when the world spins too fast to help us find our way back to center. With gratitude to everyone who read. A huge amount of the Anti-AI code sentiment massively overestimates the quality of human code outside of a very small set of open source and high quality company codebases. Human Slop is everywhere and can trivially be improved on by any opus level model.

It’s downstream from culture. Contemporary Western culture.
China 🇨🇳 is not devastating the West. The West is devastating itself.
Western business schools have spent decades teaching generations of executives that the purpose of a company is to maximise short-term shareholder value and wealth extraction, largely because that also maximises their own compensation.
It is the triumph of tactical spreadsheetism over strategy.
The more that MBA mindset fills executive suites, the more predictable the outcome becomes.
Long-term capital investment, in-house manufacturing, engineering capability, apprenticeships, resilience, even a modest degree of strategic redundancy – all are treated as costs to be cut rather than assets to be cultivated. If an investment won’t improve next quarter’s numbers, it struggles to survive the boardroom.
Complex industrial systems carry decades of accumulated capital: factories, skills, supplier networks, institutional knowledge, and productive capacity. They also carry a great deal of inertia. For a while, consuming that accumulated capital looks like genius. Margins improve, return on invested capital rises, analysts applaud, executives collect bonuses.
Then the inertia runs out.
The fat is gone, yet the incentives remain. The acroparasites, having exhausted the surplus built by previous generations, move on to muscle and bone. They continue doing the only thing they have ever been taught: extracting rather than building.
Meanwhile China spent those same decades methodically investing in factories, supply chains, technical know-how, engineering capability, and industrial scale.
And our elites call them the devastators.
What we’re seeing in Germany – and, in truth, across much of the West – is not simply a failure of industrial policy. It is the logical outcome of a managerial culture that long ago confused financial engineering with economic production.
Just one more observable suggesting that something is deeply rotten in the West.
China Is Devastating the Last Stronghold of German Industry—Midsize companies that employ millions of workers are now shedding jobs and relocating overseas to cut costs

In February, I read that by late March, this would be a global calamity. Then I read that it would be a global calamity by April. Now we're in mid April and I still hear that it's probably just a couple/few more weeks before the rubber really hits the road. I am a complete square one numpty when it comes to the energy market, so can someone explain to me how this isn't already the unmitigated global disaster emergency that everyone said it would be? I was under the impression we would be well into seeing widespread social unrest and economies crumbling in on themselves by now. Is that… next week? Like really ... when??? Explain to me like I'm a moron.

Absurd and inhuman violence is spreading ferociously through the sacred places of the Christian East, profaned by the blasphemy of war and the brutality of business, with no regard for people’s lives, which are considered at most collateral damage of self-interest. But no gain can be worth the life of the weakest, children, or families. No cause can justify the shedding of innocent blood.

Honestly, this is the most accurate diagram I've seen.
Waterfall: You plan for 18 months and deliver exactly what nobody needs anymore.
Agile: You deliver something usable at every step, but the CEO keeps asking, "Where's the car?"
AI: You get the car on day one. It has six wheels, the doors are on backwards, and it has a rocket launcher. You spend more time making it yours than actually "building"; it's shaping. owning. verifying. That's what the best AI developers do now. They don't build. They shape and own.

Why so many of us feel career-homeless in tech:
>Startups full of fraud, grifters and short-term thinking
>FAANG full of politics and slightly behind
>Frontier labs in a race with no morals
>Academia full of title collectors
>Content creation ridden by AI fakes and sensationalism
Who is starting the renaissance and how do I get in touch with them?
