Andy Burnham-‘the right talk about taking back control..they were the ones that gave it away in the first place’. A Labour leader takes back control of one of the most potent slogans in politics.

Starmer is resigning because he became unreasonably hated - partly because of too many self-inflicted mistakes and partly because social media+Farage +the wider right have created a loathing and hatred culture. Burnham is right to seek time to prepare. The same forces await him.

10 years on, and Victoria Wood’s brilliance still shines just as brightly!
She changed the face of British comedy and gave us moments we’ll never forget. Still missed, still quoted, still loved. What’s your favourite Victoria Wood moment?

The sight of the British right cheering on the half-mad, semi-senile leader of a quasi-hostile foreign power shows that conservatives have lost their patriotism – and with it whatever common sense they once possessed

Watching all the brickbats being thrown to pull this Govt off course shows quite how desperate the MSM and opposition are that they do not succeed in reducing the inequality in this Country. I don’t agree with everything but they are on balance the best chance this Country has.

The reaction to the Panorama edit has been nothing short of hysterical. Yes the BBC has some impartiality problems. But its biggest isn't the one you think.
New writing from me.

The fact that the BBC has made serious culpable errors does not negate the point that there is a real and concerted right-wing media campaign to destroy it. Both points can be true at the same time and the campaign would not end even if the errors did.

A big danger now for BBC- Samir Shah- a weak Chair- will appoint successors in an attempt to please the right wing papers…while failing to address main problems- lack of clear purpose in BBC News, lack of accountability amongst its many managers below the top two..and fear of Mail/ Telegraph/ Times/ right wing Twitterati.

One of the funniest moments I’ve seen in a long time @Chris_Villiers playing a Nigel Farage character, in #SlowHorses hit on the head with a paint pot. The build up to it. Sheer brilliance.
