facing record-breaking extreme events,
from marine heatwaves, which are increasingly deeper and more intense, to coastal #flooding,
melting sea ice, 🐻❄️
and the continuously increasing ocean warming scenarios related to our #climate, both in #Europe and around the World 🥵

From #coastal resource management, waste #water, safety at sea, #gender issues, #plastic waste, through to #coral reef and #mangrove survey methods, the efforts and solutions of the #community here are beyond impressive considering the sparse, low #carbon footprint of the resources used.
Lots to be learned from listening to them and understanding the challenges they face due to slow disasters and sudden onset shocks this morning, in a #bamboo factory making the most amazingly beautiful composite furniture.

My #FICREP @FAOfish pov on the #river Nile this afternoon after weeks upstream, squeezing past 2 ton #fish coolboxes propped up on bamboo poles, crossing beam to beam to get to the right vessel.
