I think the guy flipping burgers at McDonald’s should be able to afford rent, bills, and groceries with his paycheck alone. That’s kind of the whole point of having a job and I can’t believe this is considered a radical position for me to take.
I just like how people say “you'll become more conservative as you get older” basically admitting it's a degenerative condition.
You could literally be DEPRESSED for MONTHS and the only thing people will notice about you is how easily you get irritated 😭😭😭
i still don’t understand how so many of you were hoodwinked into believing the government should not use the money you pay in taxes to create a social safety net that benefits you, fund public healthcare, lower housing costs, and make daily life more affordable.
I don’t think people fully understand how much 1 billion is. If your salary was $100k with no tax, it would take you 10 years to become a millionaire, but 10,000 years to reach a billion. It is unethical for one person to be hoarding this much wealth while others cannot eat.
You don’t find it weird that not a single billionaire wants to end world poverty? Doesn’t it strike you as bizarre that no one with that kind of wealth wants to be the hero who actually solves the world’s biggest problems when they literally could? Isn’t that suspicious?
We’re currently living through a timeline where you can work a full 40-hour week, eat at home, have zero hobbies, and still somehow end up with a negative balance on payday.
You guys are too MEAN to be majoring in social work, medicine, nursing, education, or even customer care. Please, go do something you actually love.
NO, you CANNOT walk 10,000 steps daily, get 8 hours of sleep, cook every night, clean every day, take care of a family, make time for your own hobbies, and still be productive at work every day. This is not just propaganda, it is rubbısh. Free yourself from it.
The minimum wage should be set at a level that, if you work 40 hours per week, you can afford housing, healthcare, and groceries, no matter the job you are doing. And that is not a radical belief.
When did “if you work full-time you should be able to comfortably afford shelter, food and utilities” become an extreme leftist belief?
You gotta love late stage capitalism, where a parking spot can earn more per hour than I do as a medical professional.
“No one is forcing you to work at that job you hate.”
This is the biggest multi-generational lie capitalism has ever claimed.
I saw a post on Reddit that said, “When you walk through a museum, you’re not just looking at art. You’re moving through centuries of people trying to explain love, grief, power, beauty, and belonging.” I don’t think I’ve ever seen a museum described so beautifully.
There’s literally a children’s board game whose whole premise is showing how free market capitalism ends with one person owning everything while everyone else goes bankrupt.
You CANNOT have hyperwealth without hyperpoverty. A billionaire exists in one country because child labor exists in another.
Stock markets grow by looting countries raw. That’s the reality of capitalism: the misanthropic greed of the rich is fed by devastating the poor.
An underdiscussed part of modern capitalism is how low-wage workers are often micromanaged every minute they’re on the clock, while many high-wage jobs come with hours of unstructured computer time where no one really cares what you’re doing as long as the work gets done.
Yes, The minimum wage is meant to be the lowest wage you can live on and afford housing. So, for everyone saying “it's not meant to be that,” yes, it is. That's why it's called the minimum wage.
Fidel was correct when he said;
“Capitalism has neither the capacity, nor the morality, nor the ethics to solve the problems of poverty”
We CANNOT even afford hobbies. We CANNOT afford to go out with friends. We CANNOT afford to exist anywhere outside our homes. They then call it a mental health crisis. It's not. It's an affordability crisis.
