The UK has unilaterally guaranteed the residency rights of people from the EU who have chosen to call this home. The EU27 have not reciprocated for UK nationals living in the EU, yet somehow we’re the baddies. 🤷🏽‍♂️

The German Chambers of Commerce say 750,000 jobs there are at stake in a hard Brexit. A leading Cologne institute says German exports to the UK (€54 billion)could be slashed by 57%. Given other pressures on the German economy (growth was minus 0.4% in the last quarter) go figure – at Islington, London

So we apparently needed the backstop to avoid a hard border- now Irish Gov give the game away, there will be no hard border even with no deal. There is not, and never was, any need for the political trap known as the ‘backstop’.

It's this Government’s ambition to reduce borrowing and get our national debt down, because our children should not be left to pick up our bill. Last month was the lowest year-to-date borrowing for 16 years, so it's clear our balanced approach is working.
Public sector net borrowing (excluding public sector banks) was £7.2 billion in November 2018, £0.9 billion less than November 2017. This was the lowest November borrowing since 2004 ow.ly/9cwB30n4lkA

Focus on the good
New @ONS figures are a real boost for families across the UK ahead of Christmas as wages rose by 3.3%, the fastest pace in 10 years. The number of people in work is at a record high, supported by people in full time jobs while the number of people out of work continues to fall.
The amount of traction the second referendum is getting is scary. It would have terrible implications not only for Britain but the West, and future generations. People’s faith in democracy would be crushed forever more. Some things are bigger than Brexit

We must not to exaggerate the brexit impact. Only 16% of the UK economy involves trade and only half that trade is with the EU. So 8% will be impacted and they have prepared for this. The other 92% won’t notice any difference. No-deal Brexit will be OK. bit.ly/2DSd0n3
