WOW!! The @Tesla software update performance increase is like getting a NEW CAR... Again. This is the 3rd time I’ve woken up to a “new” car since I bought #Model3 six months ago. Thanks @elonmusk and everyone at Tesla for making the best vehicles on earth! 💕#AMAZED

Why are Democrats going after Elon Musk with everything they have? It's not because he's a billionaire in politics. They've been perfectly comfortable with billionaires in politics for decades. They're going after him because he's the first one playing against them. Look at the numbers. Soros's Democracy PAC had put over $100 million into this midterm cycle before the summer was even over. Only a tiny fraction of it shows up under his own name. Then add the advocacy arm of his foundations, which doesn't have to disclose all of its political spending. And that's just the visible part. Over 40 years, tens of billions have gone into NGOs, universities, legal networks and media projects that shape what counts as an "acceptable" opinion. That's the real game. Billionaires have been buying politicians for decades, on every side. But the smartest ones figured something out: you don't buy a candidate, you buy the ecosystem. Universities, foundations, newsrooms, NGOs, regulators, courts. Once you control who writes the reports, who trains the lawyers and who decides what counts as "misinformation", elections become a detail. For 30 years that ecosystem leaned one way. Nobody called it oligarchy. They called it "civil society." Then Musk showed up. He bought the main public square, took the filters off, and started spending in the open, under his own name. Yes, he's the biggest donor of these midterms. Everyone can see exactly how much he gave and to whom. That's the difference. One plays in daylight, the other plays through a maze of structures. And suddenly, billionaire money in politics became a threat to democracy. This isn't really about left versus right. It's about an ideology that captured these institutions and leads straight into a wall. More regulation, less building. More process, less progress. Countries shutting down working nuclear plants. A decade to approve a power line. A system whose default answer to any ambition is "no." Musk is the opposite. Reusable rockets. Mass-market EVs. Satellite internet for the whole planet. Brain-computer interfaces. A serious plan to make humanity multiplanetary. You can hate his tweets. You can't deny that no one in the last 20 years has pushed the frontier of what humanity can build further than he has. That's why they need to break him. Not because of his money. Because he proves the system can be bypassed. If we leave the system as it is, we don't get a catastrophe. We get something worse: slow, comfortable stagnation. A civilization that manages its own decline instead of building its future.
Everyone in Europe argues about the symptoms. Almost nobody looks at the plumbing: who funds the people who write the norms, litigate before the courts and set the boundaries of the debate. Take the best-documented case: the Open Society Foundations, created by George Soros. Over a billion dollars a year. Roughly $32 billion given away since 1984. Not a single voter ever approved one of those dollars. The model is simple and ruthless. You don't need to win an election. You fund NGOs, think tanks, legal clinics, university programs. They produce reports, train lawyers, run strategic litigation. And some of those people end up inside the institutions. Concrete example: the European Court of Human Rights. A 2020 report found that at least 22 of the 100 permanent judges between 2009 and 2019 came from seven NGOs that are highly active before that same Court. Open Society is the main one, and it funds the other six. The worst part: in 88 cases, 18 judges sat on the bench while the NGO they came from was the applicant, the representative or an intervening party. In any listed company, that's called a conflict of interest. None of this is illegal. That's exactly the hack. These institutions were designed to protect themselves from governments and parties. Nobody planned for a private actor funding the entire chain: the plaintiff, the expert, the lawyer, and sometimes yesterday's colleague who is now the judge. Same logic in Brussels: a dedicated policy advocacy institute, tens of millions flowing to NGOs at the heart of the EU, and Open Society among the largest private donors to the Council of Europe. And the money? Soros made his fortune speculating, most famously against the British pound in 1992. But let's be precise: the foundation doesn't make money, it spends it. The return isn't financial, it's normative. Shaping the rules is worth more than any dividend. So stop shouting "Soros" like an incantation. It gets engagement and changes nothing. The problem is structural: any billionaire, left or right, could do exactly the same thing tomorrow. Many already do. What we should demand is rules. Full transparency on the funding of NGOs that litigate before European courts and institutions. Public declarations of interest for judges. Automatic recusal. Traceability of foreign money in lobbying. Stop staring at the puppets. Look at the plumbing. Whoever funds the infrastructure of the debate always ends up writing its conclusions.

Great to see the @Tesla Roadster in person! This is on display in Main Lobby of the @Petersen_Museum for the next 4 days! (Saturday, October 24th - Tuesday, October 27th). Here’s a quick video of what it looks like … it’s bigger than I had thought!

It is tragic that so many people still think the news is real
A coworker of mine who once called Elon a Nazi finally said he scheduled to test drive a Model Y yesterday after he learned that I own 2 of them and we talked for an hour about how much I love them and how good FSD is. I asked him how the demo drive went and he told me he cancelled it because he saw on the news how teslas have been hitting people and crashing into trees and houses and that he doesn’t trust that kind of technology. Unreal how fragile people are and how blindly they just believe legacy media.

The mental gymnastics to defend MKBHD are kind of insane. First Cybercab launches in 2026. They say "but it hasn't sold to a customer under $30k yet!". Ok, fair. Now Tesla says they will sell some for under $30k before the end of the year. And the new argument is "But are they selling to individual customers, or fleet managers?" Go back and listen to what he said two years ago. After trying it he said it was "the weirdest tech event I've ever been to" and that "the biggest red flags are the timelines, this is notorious Elon stuff. He gets on stage and says we're going to have this vehicle out for $30,000 before 2027. No they're not! If they do, I will shave my head on camera, because I'm that confident they won't do it" If people are buying them for $30,000 or less before 2027, it's pretty hard to argue that doesn't meet the definition of "get the vehicle out for $30,000 before 2027". It is a real vehicle people are using every day. MKBHD elaborates further that there is "too much stacked up against it" because of 1) regulatory approvals needed to launch FSD Unsupervised and release a vehicle without a steering wheel and 2) the ability to hit the $30,000 price point in spite of inflationary pressures. This is actually a very reasonable and honest analysis from Marques. I can't fault any sane person for going to this event and saying "How the hell are they going to get a pure vision autonomous car with no steering wheel launched before 2027?". That is a completely reasonable take. But that is exactly what Tesla has done. If and when anyone buys a Tesla Cybercab for less than $30,000 before 2027, Tesla will have successfully achieved unsupervised FSD, navigated the regulatory environment, and delivered a low cost vehicle platform despite inflationary pressures. Trying to split hairs over what kind of customer is buying the car completely misses what the discussion was originally about. MKBHD said that achieving unsupervised FSD, not being stopped by regulators, and hitting cost targets were so unlikely that he would shave his head if they did it. They did exactly what he thought was so improbable that he was willing to bet his hair on it. He wasn't out there arguing, "yeah this vehicle will enter production and they will achieve unsupervised FSD, and they will hit the $30,000 cost target... but they will only be able to sell it to fleet owners". He doubted any of it would be achieved. Tesla hasn't won the bet yet, but all they have to do is pick someone off their fleet interest form, sell them one or more Cybercabs for less than $30k a pop, and MKBHD has to shave his head on camera. Again, I don't think Marques is stupid or unreasonable for doubting that this could happen by the end of 2026. I didn't think it was a sure thing either. But he went out to his millions of viewers and said I'm so convinced this will not happen that I will shave my head on camera if it does. We didn't ask him to, it was his idea. If Tesla completes a sale in the next two months and he shaves his head, I'll have much more respect for everyone involved. If he tries to split hairs and say they didn't really do what they said, I will just be shaking my head and thinking "come on..."
Replying to @wholemars
He explicitly said it wouldn’t be sold to individual consumers…

Let me explain reality… if you have but sixty seconds: They were targeting Elon They were targeting him with fake charges because the socialist-industrial complex is terrified that he would expose their long grift. They came after him for the Model 3 and Elon’s claims around its potential. That potential was realized, and it became, along with the Model Y, the best-selling electric vehicle ever created. These were fake charges to try to stop somebody from building the best category-defining product. Let that sink in: that's how evil these motherfuckers are. The loooooong grift has been exposed: socialist grifters are stealing our tax dollars to fund fringe lunacy, NGOs and government programs without oversight or audits. They’re parasites incapable of creating any product or service that has to compete in the open market. Elon creates a couple of cutting-edge products each year, and half of them succeed. Some of them actually change the world. Some of them fail brutally. It's called capitalism. It's called creation. This is what moves the human condition forward: trying things. Trying really hard things. Socialists come for the people building valuable products and services — that’s the tell Keep your eye out for the people who've created nothing and risked nothing, but who are attacking the people who risk everything to create Something. That's the tell.
Kara Swisher says Elon Musk might be in jail right now if Kamala Harris was in office and “he knows what’s coming” if Democrats take back power.

College professor left completely stumped after @KaiSchwemmer started talking in Spanish after the professor said he welcomed mass migration. Schwemmer: Would it be an issue if every city spoke a different language? Professor: No. Schwemmer: "Entonces sería bastante difícil si estuviéramos hablando, entendernos, porque nosotros no podemos entender lo que estamos diciendo y no podemos alcanzar tener respeto mutuo." Brilliant.

It’s about political control. When he was voting for their team, he was the second coming of Jesus. A liberal businessman who was doing things the right way. Then suddenly after Democrats started targeting him for being too successful, he’s completely useless and it’s just a lucky coincidence that all his companies are wildly successful. Certainly it doesn’t have anything to do with him, it was probably thanks to Martin Eberhard or something. The reason their opinion flipped 180 is that they want to control you. They want their guys in charge. And if you ever started to doubt their plans for the country, or expressed that you wanted something different, they would do the exact same thing to you. If they were willing to set America’s clean energy transition back for political power, they’ll destroy you without even blinking.
My lefty friend said this about Musk; "The guy writes cheques. About it. If he actually produced things himself I might have some sympathy but he’s an entitled little goblin that is contributing nothing positive to the human experience." It's quite hard to reconcile that with any shared reality.

He’s a smart and talented man, but he’s made a political decision. He’s doing everything in his limited powers to give Tesla the shaft in any and every way he can; while maintaining some plausible deniability. He is taking advertising money from others, specifically lucid at this time. He is no longer an honest broker when it comes to automotive tech review. Once you take advertising money from a manufacturer you give up that integrity forever. Just look at @ZacksJerryRig. Zero integrity.
Can someone please explain to me why this guy (a tech YouTuber) hates Tesla (the company with some of the most advanced technology in the world)?

I’ve spent a few days thinking about the Tesla Roadster reveal and landed somewhere I haven’t seen much discussion. I’m neither a Tesla fanboy nor a Tesla hater. And I couldn’t care less whether what we saw technically qualifies as a flying car. Three takeaways: (1) The risk of that live demonstration going horribly wrong was real. Almost no CEO would willingly expose their company to that kind of public humiliation for a product with so little financial upside. Elon did. (2) That willingness to attempt the seemingly impossible is what makes Tesla special. It’s also arguably Elon’s greatest contribution to America. He’s helped bring back something we’ve lost. The American spirit of chasing big scary ideas that most people think are impossible. That mindset is spreading across a new generation of founders and its long term impact on America’s future could dwarf anything Tesla ever sells. I think this is deeply underappreciated. (3) Can we just acknowledge how insanely cool that moment was? We’ve reached a strange place culturally where even extraordinary feats of human ingenuity immediately become arguments about why they don’t count. Not everything needs to be a debate. Sometimes we should just be able to stand back together and marvel at what humans are capable of. I’ve been both bullish and critical of Tesla’s ambitions over the years. But watching Elon and his team push the boundaries of what’s possible reminds me why I’m glad we have him. Whether the Roadster ever makes Tesla a dollar or impacts $TSLA stock price is almost beside the point. We need more people willing to risk failure in pursuit of things the rest of us think are impossible. Because when they succeed we all win.

It's Frunk or Treat day at Giga Texas! 🎃👻 The annual Frunk or Treat event for Tesla employees & their families happened yesterday & this one was the largest they have done yet, with an anticipated 10,000 people signed up! Employees & their families arrived throughout the day & evening to enjoy food, candy, activities for all ages, displays, dunk tanks & car decoration competitions! I was asked to capture the event via drone video & images along with some ground shots too, & I was honored that they would ask me & I had a lot of fun too! As you will see, this was a well received & attended event with possibly the highlight of the day the dunk tanks where people took turns to be able to dunk the plant manager & other senior leadership. Despite the much cooler temps ion the evening, they were all great sports & everyone had a lot of fun! I hope you enjoy seeing another side of Giga Texas & the employees that work so hard making the products & services we all enjoy. Happy Halloween!

Tonight, France burned. America, you should be watching very carefully. Today, October 17, 2026, more than half a million people marched across France against the cost of living. By 8pm, around 400 had been arrested. In Paris, police turned water cannons on the crowds at Place de la République, and one march was stopped 150 meters from the Élysée Palace. Of the 195 people arrested in the capital by the afternoon, only one actually lived in Paris. Mobs forced their way into the city halls of Marseille and Lille. In Lyon, a tourism office was set on fire. In Rennes, barricades burned. Near Limoges, a highway was blocked and police cars were torched. And then came Limoges. A crowd of very young people stormed the city hall, a protected historic monument built in the 1880s. They flipped police cars in front of it and set them ablaze, then set the building itself on fire. The flames took the roof, the wedding hall, and the civil registry, the office that records every birth, every marriage, every death in the city. Tonight, the bell tower that has crowned Limoges for nearly 150 years collapsed. The mayor's response: "It's a monument that is burning, not the Republic." That is the problem in one sentence. Our leaders still think words can put out fires. None of this came out of nowhere. For twenty years, the French political class has excused everything. Every riot was "anger." Every burned car was a "social symptom." Every attack on police was "a reaction to provocation." And the hard left, La France Insoumise, which officially backed today's mobilization, built its electoral machine on an alliance with political Islamism: refusing to condemn, refusing to name, trading secularism and public order for votes. In France we have a word for it. Islamo-gauchisme. Islamo-leftism. Tonight you saw where that culture of excuse ends. A country where a mob can burn down a town hall, and the state arrives after the roof has already fallen in. My dear American friends, I say this with love, as someone who has lived among you and owes you a great deal: your midterms are on November 3rd. And the same alliance is growing inside your Democratic Party. The same far-left wing that treats disorder as protest and police as the enemy. The same activists who refuse to draw a line between legitimate dissent and those who openly despise the West. The same politicians who think tolerance means tolerating everything, including the people who want to burn it down. It always starts with excuses. Then comes impunity. Then come the flames. Same causes, same effects. If you create the conditions we created, you will get exactly what we got tonight. France was the country of the Enlightenment, of cathedrals and town halls that stood for centuries. Tonight, one of them collapsed live on social media while the government called for calm. My dear American friends, the only advantage you have over us is that you've been warned. Vote like your city hall depends on it. Because one day, it will.
