❓We asked Gemini: "What is a "pin" in chess? Explain it concisely using an analogy"
🗣️ "Imagine you're a bodyguard protecting a celebrity. If you step away, the celebrity is vulnerable. In chess, a pin is a tactic where a piece is trapped because moving it would expose a more valuable piece behind it.
Like the bodyguard being forced to stay put, unable to defend themselves or the celebrity. Now imagine the celebrity is the king, and the bodyguard is a rook protecting them.
If an opponent's bishop attacks the rook, the rook cannot move to safety without exposing the king.
The rook is "pinned" to the king, forced to stay put, even though it is under attack!"
thinking about how on `.dev` pages online, a "stare" is a real =( glum kinda happening
The streets are super soaking out right now. Take care. You guys.
