In a wee cafe in Edinburgh this morning, a group of elderly ladies at a table beside me. The subject of last night’s debate came up and “six boats” is all they’re talking about. STV’s ‘cross examination’ format is a real standout for TV debates that have sadly become a bit routine. Credit to the team behind it.

The Glasgow fire brings out the worst in so many here. Immigrant-blaming racists, ill-informed conspiracists, political factions blaming each other...Be grateful there were no casualties, thank the emergency services, Scotrail staff & keep in mind those who lost their businesses.

This is the Grade II-listed building destroyed by the Glasgow fire, yesterday. It was designed by Sir John Burnet, who also created part of the British Museum and the Selfridges building on London's Oxford St. His timeless work is now lost to a vape seller. Tragic.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
