Easier, inclusive communication leads to better outcomes for individuals, communities, services and Scotland.
@ScotGov and its partners have today published the Inclusive Communications Toolkit for public bodies.

I thank the experts, co producers and public bodies who helped shape this practical, evidence based resource, which includes good practice standards, indicators, and tools. “Together, we can make communication fairer and more accessible across Scotland.”

If this were any field other than medicine the conduct alleged here would be worthy of criminal investigation.

I don’t think many MPs understand the terrifying significance of placing this highly contested area into **criminal law**

The state and pension funds are not going to multiply the amount of money they have available, so what this is about diluting pension and benefits for women, overwhelmingly, and generally trapping women more firmly in abusive households, Inc in old age. Cos Scottish Greens.

Speaking on the stage of a venue whose director has made it perfectly clear to me they will *never* allow me to hire again, despite my having sold it out several times for both my own shows and others I programmed, our former First Minister dares talks about 'cancel culture'. Which *she* has been part of creating. Fun.

Good reporting here. This is a very damning sentence:
“Although Doyle at first denied to the tribunal he knew Hall before this, it emerged during the tribunal that he had previously had a number of mentoring meetings with the GP.”
The GP referred to in that statement, Hall, is the trans one who was prescribing the drugs to confused children, not the safeguarding one who was worried about it.

Extraordinary testimony from Baroness Cass yesterday on the profile of children who will be part of the *Puberty Blockers Trial*. Little kids who have been 'socially transitioned' from early childhood. Harmed by their parents - reinforced by the State... @Transgendertrd 1/

1/ This is getting silly. Quite apart from the merits of the debate this letter from the under secretary of state to the pre legislative scrutiny committee is unacceptably brief, inadequately addresses the concerns and is just pure lazy. What on earth are civil servants doing?

If Salman Rushdie’s fatwa happened today, how many of these signatories would sign a letter supporting him? Most would be too afraid, many would think he deserved it. I doubt Rooney herself would support him.
The comparison is fatuous and disgraceful.
If you ever sought out the novels of Sally Rooney in bookshops – when that was still possible – you’d know they sit in the fiction stacks adjacent to the novels of another SR whose books have been withdrawn in dastardly political circumstances. Until last week, “Rooney” and “Rushdie” had little in common beyond being shelfmates; now they have more than just a physical proximity.

“None of these people ever imagined that women’s and girls’ rights could be removed at the whim of employers and the state and, unfortunately, women can no longer rely on what would once have been their obvious champions: trade unions.”
I wrote a new piece about women’s rights and whether or not I want trans people dead. (Spoiler: I don’t)👇

A case in point.
Yet another union betraying women.
The British Medical Association (BMA), the doctors’ trade union, has published a lengthy statement opposing the NHS’s new single-sex guidance.
It repeatedly raises concerns about trans people’s privacy, dignity and safety. But where is the recognition of women’s need for those same protections?
Women get a brief mention - but only to suggest that those who don’t look feminine enough may be challenged when using single-sex spaces.
Nothing about why female patients and staff need those spaces in the first place.

1/ We’ve written to the Secretary of State for Equalities concerning misinformation that appeared in an article she wrote over the weekend. It’s important that the debate around the draft conversion bill is accurate and the Minister should promote this.

The same should apply to pronouns in emails.
I apply this prohibition to myself. It’s tempting to have a gender critical email signature, but I am able to see that doing this risks alienating the recipient. If they are a student, that’s out of order. 1/2 telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/10…
It cannot be said often enough that drawing parallels between Rooney and Rushdie is incredibly offensive, and in many cases I think deliberately so (particularly since a lot of those supporting Rooney have never defended Rushdie to begin with).
