🌍 After a year of continuous record-breaking temperatures, having to deploy CDR technologies seems less and less unavoidable. Our new study on ERL explorws pathways to scale-up, in the short-term, a method to remove CO2: Direct Air Capture

The cost of removing #CO2 from the air will fall, but not as much as previously hoped. This is the conclusion reached by ETH researchers on the basis of new calculations. Efforts to reduce #CarbonEmissions should therefore continue at pace. ethz.ch/en/news-and-events/e…
However, it's still important to continue the development of DAC plants as these technologies are key to addressing emissions that are otherwise difficult or impossible to eliminate. ✈ 🚢

Important work by JRC on CO2 transport infrastructure - the key bottleneck of any carbon management strategy.
▶️"By 2050, the European CO2 pipeline network
could reach a considerable length up to 19 000 km and requires investment of 9.3-23.1 bn€."

With #DAC entering the mainstream, we wanted to create a video to introduce the concept and inspire people to learn more. Feel free to share with anyone who might be interested.

Although #DACS has the potential to make significant contributions to #CDR, the market is still in its early stages🏗
Current deployment rate of DACS is low, necessitating the upscaling of both existing and new technologies at unprecedented pace🚀
