🔎 | Introducing one of the smallest books at @bodleianlibs The 'German ABC' was published in 1971. It was once the smallest book in the world. The book measures at just 3x2.5 mm. #WorldBookDay 📷 | @bodleianlibs

The Library is the go-to study space located opposite the dining hall. There are upper and lower reading rooms and our two friendly librarians are often around to help students with questions and queries to help them use the space. 📚 @keblelib

📖These are the Lower Reading Rooms in Keble Library, situated at the heart of College. 🪟 A relaxing and peaceful College study space overlooking both Liddon and Pusey Quad. Fun fact: One of the rooms downstairs used to be the JCR! #lightacademia #oxfordlibrary @UniofOxford

At the bottom of this blog post about the Teutonic Knights Bible, which is in pieces and partly held by @V_and_A, @BLMedieval and @keblelib, there is a fantastic digital reconstruction of the item. Made possible using #IIIF vam.ac.uk/articles/the-teuto…

A quiet desk shift led our staff on a literary tour of Oxford via bookmarks! 🔖 These were all found in books returned to the EFL (and there are more from outside Oxford too!)

We’ve found the Book of Hours captured by Holbein in his famous portrait of #ThomasCromwell! Cromwell’s book is one of the few objects depicted in a Tudor portrait to survive. @TracyBorman has dubbed it “the most exciting Cromwell discovery in a generation - if not more.”

Iron gall ink is a name for the favoured ink used in Europe from the Middle Ages into the 20th century. What did Faye, our Keeper of the University Archives, do to satisfy her curiosity about it? She made some of course! Here's what she learned. ✍️ blogs.bodleian.ox.ac.uk/arch…

Fascinating! This #nuntastic prayerbook is a stunning example for the richly illuminated #manuscripts from the Cistercian convent of Meding! The Noth-German convent was dedicated to St Mary and St Maurice! #medievaltwitter #medieval #medievaltart
This historiated initial from a book of private devotions depicts the martyrdom of St Maurice, a 3rd century Egyptian military leader. This devotion to St Maurice, and the Low German language of the vernacular prayers suggests an origin within the archbishopric of Magdeburg

Manuscript 344, 'Processional of St. Amand-les-Eaux'. Does anyone recognise the tunes in this medieval processional? The spine also reveals some interesting history, as recycled older manuscripts can be seen peeking out.
