Political violence has no place in our society - we resolve our differences on policy at the ballot box and not through armed conflict. The rhetoric around this, and all elections, must come down.
When anyone believes they are justified in attacking any candidate, the core tenets of our democracy suffer.
I am thankful that available reporting sounds like any injuries are minor and the suspect was apprehended quickly.

I’m curious how they say a Dem Governor could raise taxes with a Republican Legislature. Even under the most optimistic scenario for Acton, Rs will have majorities in both legislative chambers and would need to sign off on any budget. But hey, who cares about reality and facts?
