Nature has never been negotiable, right through his 40 year career. First thing he did in his first term has been to bring comprehensive policies to save Amzon-a principle this man kept alive each term. Today the Brazilians chose rain forest over agro expansion into the forest.

Lula has been the last man standing for the survival of a 100 billion living.. Never bargained the Nature right through his career, for a few dollars more..

Officially named as a cyclonic storm. Winds predicted to increase up to 120 kmph by Tuesday evening. Might be at least 500km off us when it hits land, but the rains could be heavier tomorrow.

Unless we recover River/Road reservations and prevent flood plains /marshlands from being filled up, we are goofed. Climate Change will not take excuses.. The thing has increased speed.. Whichever way it turns we will feel impact, one way or the other.. Let's brace ourselves..

One example: What causes millions of damage to Gampola, Gelioya, Akurana, and increasingly Nawalapitiya is the overflow of nearby local stream being invaded by concrete- not by the river. Whole country pays for damage repair, while Govt protects the unauthorized construction.

Many a stream in Kadugannawa is blocked to get water piped down to the roadside. Every large advertising board stands on steel drilled right down, disturbing the bedrock.toilet pits, garbage dumped.Structures with zero impact measured are still being built in treacherous incline.

Govt needs to adjust/remove/ terminology in Online Safety, PTSA, Organised Crimes ASAP and convince EU to ignore our Middle Income status. Loosing GSP+ is a hit we cant take.

SLR has been the only reason for lesser elephant deaths in the first 7 months of 2026. Only 3 deaths so far, compared to 21 last year. Incredible commitment by everyone in Railway right up to locomotive drivers. Kudos to Transport Ministry too for taking multiple steps.

What contrast to the arrogant morons that occupy the Wildlife Dept - not just now but has been the way for long. Never ever bothered to fill the needs in men and material. Few good men for sure but too many misfits.

While Govt is going overboard on Law and Order, the clear and present danger is elsewhere- from Climate Change. Bring in tougher laws to secure river/road reservations . Need an NBRO with a spine- balls too.. DMC needs to do way more than sending warnings.
