Keslow Camera is honored to be the exclusive home of The ASC Todd-AO Primes. Learn more about the ASC Todd-AO 65mm lenses at the link below: theasc.com/asc-todd-ao-lense… To rent the ASC Todd-AO lenses for your next project, please contact us via our website: keslowcamera.com/about-keslo… #Repost from The American Society of Cinematographers @AmericanCine: "When nine vintage Todd-AO primes resurfaced in the ASC’s historic Hollywood Clubhouse, they were covered in dust, their irises seized by water damage and focus rings frozen. Shelly Johnson, ASC spearheaded the Society’s restoration effort with Zerø Optik, preserving the lenses’ character while making them practical for contemporary large-format work. Originally crafted for the Todd-AO widescreen system in the early 1950s, the set spans 18mm through 135mm and supports PV, PL, and LPL mounts via interchangeable housings. All but the 18mm share a 95mm front diameter for fast, seamless swaps on set. Greig Fraser, ASC, ACS, @GreigFraser_dp who advised on tuning the primes, described them as buttery smooth glass that softens a digital image without making it look broken. The set made its debut on “Our History,” a Widow’s Bay episode that earned Christian Sprenger, ASC a 2026 Emmy nomination, shot on the Arri Alexa 265 and lit predominantly with firelight, torches, and candles. The ASC Todd-AO lenses are now available to rent at Keslow Camera @keslowcamera. Read more at the link in bio. #Cinematography #ASC #ToddAO #ZeroOptik #KeslowCamera"

CHRISTMAS AT THE KRINGLES is NOW PLAYING in theaters nationwide! We sat down with DP Brandon Cox to discuss creating the wild, colorful look of this "anti-Hallmark" holiday film directed by Kevin Lewis. 🎬 “That was the whole idea: just do everything we love about movies, but elevate it, turn it to 11... Anywhere I look, I want Christmas lights on the ceiling. I want them everywhere. I want trees, because I want people to feel like they’re inside of a Hallmark movie that just went wrong.” “When I put that [75mm DZOFILM Pavo anamorphic] lens up, I was like, ‘Okay, that’s why I picked these lenses.’ It just lit up. Everybody’s like, ‘Oh my god, this is the movie.’ ... So it’s like a false pretense. You’re like, ‘Oh, hey, come on in.’ Even though we’re batshit crazy, but I want you to feel happy and warm.” — DP Brandon Cox Read the full interview: tinyurl.com/KeslowXKringles DP | Brandon Cox Serviced By | #KeslowCameraLA

NOW STREAMING 🎬 Can a vertical drama carry the visual impact of classic cinema? In our latest Project Spotlight, director, cinematographer, and editor Stephen SmallWarner breaks down the craft behind KILLA OF LAVERNE - an 8-part procedural drama shot natively in 9:16. On his approach to framing and focal lengths in vertical: "The wide in the vertical frame is different. It functions differently. It feels different... I stuck to the 65mm and 40mm, which on full-frame gave me the closeness and intimacy that I wanted. And it also gave me enough of the wide angle in order to really frame wides around subject and not around the environment." On collaborating with Keslow Camera to test new ground: "I always feel at home at Keslow. It just has such an incredible family vibe... I really do appreciate the flexibility and the openness to be able to use some of cinema's most tried and true trusted gear in order to kind of push that into such an innovative and untested realm." Operating the full-frame Panasonic Lumix S1H paired with our set of ZEISS Supreme Prime Radiance lenses, SmallWarner navigated tight hotel spaces with speed and precision. A massive congratulations to Fraser Brown, CSC on taking home the Canadian Society of Cinematographers Award for Half Hour Scripted Series Cinematography for Peacock's "Twisted Metal" Season Two ( Season Finale - "NUY3ARZ")! In honor of the big win, we’re looking back at our sit-down covering his visuals across episodes 3, 4, 7, 8, 11, and 12. Fraser walked us through the creative choices powering the wild apocalyptic comedy—breaking down custom POV setups, historical period flashbacks, vintage horror visual tones, partnering alongside initial block cinematographer Spencer Combs, and balancing heavy practical stunt work with digital magic. "[For the prologue flashback that opens the finale,] we pitched hard to make it black and white. [For the sequence,] we got the ancientoptics Petzvalux Primes... We tested them. They were awesome, especially in the forest. All the trees are curving. And we pushed it hard. We really wanted it to feel different than the rest of the show. As far as working with Keslow, it was great. We had a great experience. We got all the tools we needed... Everyone was very on board to create the type of show that we were doing." - DP Fraser Brown, CSC Read the full interview: tinyurl.com/KeslowXTwistedMe… BTS shots courtesy of Fraser Brown, CSC 📸 DPs | Fraser Brown, CSC & Spencer Combs Serviced By | #KeslowCameraToronto
