After adjusting for patient characteristics, patients managed non-operatively for appendicitis were approximately twice as likely to re-present to the ED, be hospitalized, or undergo a CT scan within one-year compared to operatively managed patients.

Trainees: Demystify the care of your patients!
1. Do not be satisfied by only reviewing the notes/reports.
2. Go to your patient's endoscopy
3. Watch IR do the embolization
4. Review the images with radiology
5. Look at those bleeping pumps & ask the nurse how they function.
