Supporting Migrant Farm Workers Evacuated by the Wildfires 🙏 As wildfires continue to impact the Okanagan region, 16 migrant farm workers were evacuated with little more than the clothes they were wearing, with some even being airlifted by helicopter for their safety. At the request of the Migrant Worker Centre, Khalsa Aid Kelowna provided backpacks to help evacuated farm workers carry and organize essential belongings during this difficult time. We are grateful to the Migrant Worker Centre for reaching out and helping us understand the urgent needs of those affected. Our heartfelt thanks to our dedicated Khalsa Aid volunteers for making this sewa possible. During times of crisis, we stand together to support those who need it most. 🙏💛 #KhalsaAidCanada #KhalsaAidKelowna #HumanityFirst #WildfireResponse #OkanaganWildfires #FarmWorkers #MigrantWorkers #MigrantWorkerCentre #CommunitySupport #Seva #ServingHumanity

🔥 Standing with Okanagan Farm Workers During the Wildfires 🙏 As wildfires continue to affect the Okanagan region, poor air quality and heavy wildfire smoke are creating difficult conditions for those working outdoors. At the request of the Migrant Worker Centre, Khalsa Aid Kelowna delivered N95 masks to farm workers across the Okanagan region, helping provide respiratory protection while they continue their essential work. Farm workers play a vital role in our communities and food supply, and we are grateful for their dedication, especially during challenging conditions. During times of crisis, it is important that we stand together and ensure essential workers are not forgotten. We thank the Migrant Worker Centre for reaching out and helping us connect with those in need, and our dedicated Khalsa Aid volunteers for making this sewa possible. We will continue to support our community wherever help is needed. 🙏💛 #KhalsaAidCanada #KhalsaAidKelowna #HumanityFirst #WildfireResponse #OkanaganWildfires #WildfireSmoke #AirQuality #FarmWorkers #MigrantWorkers #CommunitySupport #Seva #ServingHumanity

The Namaygoosisagagun First Nation (also known as Collins First Nation) is a remote community roughly 250 km north of Thunder Bay, with no road access. Last week a fast moving wildfire tore through it, and families fled by boat and vehicle as flames reached the trees beside their homes, escaping with little more than the clothes they were wearing. @khalsaaidca volunteers met with this family, who’ve been provided with temporary accommodation in Thunder Bay. Our team was able to supply them with groceries and other household items to help them set up their home. This is what it looks like to recognize the whole human race as one. 🙏 #KhalsaAid #Namaygoosisagagun #CollinsFirstNation #ThunderBay #WildfireRelief #NorthwesternOntario #WholeHumanRaceAsOne

From January to June this year, Team Victoria served warm meals to over 300 people every month at Our Place Society. 🧡 Dahl, curry, rice, roti, and hot pizza — all made and served by volunteers giving their time to fight food insecurity in our city. Endless gratitude to our sevadars. This is what seva looks like. 🙏 #KhalsaAid #Victoria #OurPlaceSociety #Langar #YYJ

From FIFA's Volunteer HQ in Vancouver to farmworkers across BC — this is what a "surplus donation" can turn into! FIFA & Dove had a surplus of deodorant meant for World Cup volunteers & staff. But thanks to a tip, Metro Vancouver volunteers were able to secure a pallet worth. From our warehouse, 400 units went straight to our partner Migrant Workers Centre — reaching seasonal migrant farm workers across Kamloops, Creston, Grand Forks, Oliver & Penticton. The team’s next delivered deodorant and food supplies to Northwest Harvest Church in Hope where the community is experiencing a huge uptick in families needing their services. And finally to SACH, a community partner that provides wraparound services to those facing difficult times in Surrey, to support their outreach programs. One donation. 7 communities in less than a week. That's what "Recognize the whole human race as one" looks like in motion. A huge thank you to Preet from Teja Foods. This Seva would not have been possible without you. @fifa @fifaworldcup @dove #khalsaaid #seva #yvr #fifa #dove

The Metro Vancouver team had the honour of supporting B.C's first sober living house designed specifically for Panjabi men recovering from substance abuse & mental health challenges. Vaapsi's approach is comprehensive & fosters long-term healing through a holistic method & is rooted in the principles of Sikhi. This supported living facility houses 10 men at a time providing wrap around services after detox utilizing the services of community partners. To make the house feel like a home, volunteers dropped off furniture such as sofas, shelving units and office desks for staff. This seva is only possible with the genorsoity of our donours. #vaapsibc . . . . #khalsaaidca #seva #MetroVancouver

Roots of Service. 🌱✨ There is something deeply grounding about putting life back into the earth.
