Europe built Wero so we wouldn't need Visa, Mastercard and PayPal… and now the Dutch bank ASN only lets you activate it if Google approves your Android phone. The app runs Google's Play Integrity check, so anyone on GrapheneOS or /e/OS is locked out. The bank's answer: Wero relies on the "standard security controls for regular operating systems".
