Before AI it would have been crazy to maintain a fork of a complex open source project.
Our Typesense fork restores in-memory indexes from disk on redeploy.
Startup went from hours to minutes. Stock Typesense re-indexes everything from scratch.

What I’m coming to learn about software development with agents lately is as simple as:
- verification
- verification
- verification
Really strict rules that an agent can’t do the wrong thing and it will produce better outcomes than a human could.
Got a few questions on how I got my LG 5K display working on my Mac with Omarchy, so I put together an article. A nice overview of what got it working.

Really interesting concept to show agent workflows. Different take than the usual graph & node representations.
High performing teams always strived towards small changes straight to production and relying on good tooling & monitoring.
As I tell teams I work with, if you’re afraid to release on a Friday then you’re also afraid the rest of the time.

Forget PRs. Do trunk-based development. Push to main.
What we do:
- We all work on our own, in orbs.
- The agent writes the code, runs the tests, provides proof, runs the application end to end, etc. -- all inside the orb.
- If we want feedback on what we're building, we share an orb portal URL if we have something visual. Or we tag a colleague in the orb thread and ask them for their thoughts. Or we split up the change in small pieces, put it behind a feature flag, share that and get feedback onit.
- We constantly ship things behind feature flags and test them ourselves in the product. We toggle feature flags for us on. We might turn them off after 1hr if someone complains.
- Prototypes and features are cheap now. Instead of building something over multiple days and going back and forth, we build something, share WIP-in-orb in our Slack and ask for feedback, or ship behind feature flag and get feedback.
Got really sick of the bloated feeling of macOS. It’s starting to feel like Windows Vista.
Gave my MacBook a new lease of life feeling the speed & freshness of Linux, and seeing what Omarchy hype is all about.
So far it’s super snappy and way better running multiple agents on.
