The Goffs Claire Mactaggart Charity Gala – Live Auction Lot 3 ✨
From the Gallops at Kinneston to the Home of Gold, kindly donated by Nick Alexander
An exclusive morning for three guests at the Kinneston stables of leading Scottish racehorse trainer Nick Alexander, followed by lunch at the home of golf. Your experience begins at 10.00am at Kinneston, where you’ll head to the gallops to see Nick Alexander’s string of racehorses being put through their paces — offering a rare, first-hand glimpse into the daily life of a leading racing yard.
Return to the yard for coffee and cake in the Kinneston kitchen, before enjoying a private tour of the stables. Get an insider’s perspective on some of the yard’s equine stars, meet the team and hear from Nick himself as he shares stories and insights into the running of a successful Scottish racing operation. You’ll also have the opportunity to watch a further lot of horses at exercise and ask Nick your own questions.
Then, it’s off to St Andrews for the second part of this exceptional day. Enjoy drinks followed by lunch at the historic Royal & Ancient Golf Club, at the very heart of the home of golf, accompanied by a selection of fine wines. An unforgettable opportunity to experience two of Scotland’s great sporting traditions — horseracing and golf — in exceptional company and exclusive surroundings.
*To be taken before the end of April or from August onwards

It is just WRONG that Glorious @Goodwood_Races has (as far as I can see) got NOT ONE WORD of editorial on the @BBCSport website.
Win by Bow Echo & @loughnane_billy a great sporting let alone racing story.
As the ‘clever clever’ BBC advert says: Is the BBC worth keeping? 🙈

Lets hope Jims appointment is one of many changes to the BHA board and that we have a coherent commercial and outward looking strategy.
"In my view, the BHA is putting the cart before the horse. What racing needs to counteract the foal crop and racehorse population decline is more owners. Giving them fewer opportunities to win prize-money, or even race at all, will guarantee that there will be a further precipitous drop in ownership with all that implies for the future horse population and foal crop. It will be a self-fulfilling plunge into the abyss."
Cant argue with that @RacehorseOwners @OwnersforOwners @TheOwnerBreeder

On Thursday, the Gambling Commission will cross a line by publishing statistics about problem gambling in Britain in the knowledge that they are from an unreliable survey. In so doing, it may forfeit forever the trust of its licensees… open.substack.com/pub/danwau…
