The idea to write this guide & share our love for & excitement about reproductive health advocacy happened while attending 2023 CLC. So fitting that it’s published right ahead of this year’s CLC.
Thank you to @ACOGAction & the best writing team @aliceychen18 @CCrifase and Kate!
It’s crucial that health care professionals at all career stages get involved in protecting reproductive health care—especially the next generation of ob-gyns. We’re proud to share a new advocacy guide by medical students, for medical students. Learn more: bit.ly/3SVYu2x

No matter how long I live after we get through this dark chapter, I will never get over the immorality, the amorality, the corruption, the criminality and the cruelty in service to one of the worst humans to ever walk the earth.

I'm currently reading a comparison of health systems globally. There are about 4 sentences that really sum it up.
1/4: “The United States is the only developed country that lets insurance companies profit from basic health coverage”

Ive spent a lot of time as a physician in countries all over the world
I’ve seen kids die of diarrhea, Ebola, tetanus, and malaria
Healthcare in the U.S. is definitely a mess
But “sickest country in the world” is doing a lot of work here

Public health protects us all — often quietly, behind the scenes. Now, it needs our voices.
Eight former CDC directors and I, spanning Presidents Carter to Trump, share why recent actions put America’s health security at risk.

We’re fixing Atlantic Avenue! This is what a comprehensive community-led rezoning looks like 🏠 feat. @crystalforbk
Could’ve written every word myself, as a fellow med school mom (and older student!)

I haven’t talked a lot about the hard parts of med school (especially med school as a middle aged lady with four kids), because I’ve just felt so damn lucky to get the chance to do it. But it has been hard, of course, and uniquely hard in some ways for me and my family.

My 4 year old went for his annual checkup today.
He got his measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (MMRV) vaccine today, as recommended.
As a physician, I know how this will protect him, especially now.
And as a parent, I trust the safety of the vaccine.
I hate the diaspora wars. I’ve encountered more than a few people from the big islands unaware of common facts related to the smaller islands. I’ve lived in the US for almost 20 years and still learning about America. What is the point of this new discourse, I truly do not know.

I had 8 tweets i just deleted. I just don’t like the implication that Black Americans are dumb because we may not have known about Indo Caribbean people.
