Just finished Robert Harris’s V2. The story unfolds practically in my own backyard, around The Hague and Wassenaar. Fascinating history, but I found it a little disappointing and a predictable plot.
And Harris completely ignores this side of the story. The pain is still deeply felt here.
On this day in 1945, the RAF mistakenly bombed the Bezuidenhout quarter of The Hague. The bombers tried to hit the German V2 launch area in the forest of The Hague but made a navigational error. 486 Dutch civilians were killed. #WW2

Our annual views have dropped from 700M to 280M. Posts about Ukraine shared by accounts with millions of followers barely get any traction, whereas our more generic posts about AI, for example, can get millions of views.
Ukraine is still one of the hottest topics on this platform, yet voices supporting the country are being throttled, just like Starlink/Starshield was.
