I can't stop smiling. I just won Apple's #SwiftStudentChallenge! I've wanted to apply since I was 8. Finally eligible this year, I put so much passion into my app. I feel so lucky & excited for #WWDC2024! Thank you so much @apple ! I can't wait to keep learning as a #iOSDev!

not a single word in this tweet about the runtime. after months of marketing about how stable it is. i am so beyond angry right now. jokes on me for having a shred of trust that he would care at all about his users. vc money = sustainable open source, he said. trust me, he said.
I, along with the rest of the Deno company, am joining Cloudflare! I'm motivated by abstractions that give leverage at scale. The Cloudflare workers programming model is a hermetic computing abstraction that truly embodies the old Sun Microsystems tagline "The Network Is the Computer". The programming abstractions that Kenton designed really force scalability. If you squint your eyes you might even conceive of it as a distributed high-level operating system. The only major problem with this distributed operating system is that practically people only use it inside of Cloudflare. Cloudflare is an amazing service for nearly all applications - but there are many situations when you might need it to run elsewhere. I want to solve this problem and make the Workers programming model the default way you write server-side application code. The time is ripe for new abstractions too - what software we run and how we run it are changing quickly with AI. The number of agents is exploding and I don't think they all need a Linux VM. A much more lightweight Durable Object would suffice for many applications. I'm super keen to talk to people who want to self-host agents at scale on DOs - msg me!

Codex CLI just got a major refresh, with a new look and powerful new capabilities. We’re continuing to invest in Codex CLI for developers who live in the command line. New full-screen interface, better readability, and ways to manage parallel work, all inside your terminal.

Thoughts on the "ChatGPT + Codex = ChatGPT Work" app Some background, I've been using our internal Slack bot for the past couple of weeks and I feel convinced that Claude Cowork and ChatGPT Work are the wrong type of product. 1. People will naturally use an agent where they already do work (Slack or Teams), as opposed to building a habit around a new app. 2. The agent is only as good as the tools and data it has access to, and there's quite a bit of friction in setting that up. It's way better for somebody on your team to do that once, as opposed to, every single person having to do that for their desktop agent. 3. The desktop agent has a clear advantage though with computer use. And while that is powerful, most knowledge work is now done in the cloud. So oddly the desktop agent is better for people that mostly do their work on their local machine, ie, developers. On that note, merging Codex and ChatGPT to create ChatGPT Work feels like the wrong move on multiple counts. It dilutes two previously focused products (ChatGPT and Codex) to create one convoluted app, that I don't think is the right form factor to begin with.

Deno is such a beast, will definitely be using it over Bun for my next TypeScript backend. Bun's become too opinionated for my liking.
Deno 2.8.3 is out! Deno.serve() is faster: we shipped a new HTTP/1.1 fast path, plus fixes for streaming bodies, header handling, and compression negotiation. Also a big LSP cleanup, 170 fixes in total. `deno desktop` is coming soon!

question for @theo: did you actually try tangled before writing it off as "federated Bluesky bullshit"? if you give it a real chance, ull see it solves the fragmentation problem you discussed if it helps, mitchell already moved libghostty go bindings there tangled.org/mitchellh.com
