Our first collaborative project on fern gametophyte mycobiome. The non-green, coral-like gametophyte is so unique!
Achlorophyllous, coral-like gametophyte of Ophioderma (Ophioglossaceae). Fern gametophytes of this family have to collaborate with fungal symbionts similarly for research partners studying these organisms! See more in Chen et al. 2022, March/April issue #AppsPlantSci
