Today is my second first day at @Automattic. I've had about six deja vus since this morning. Feels like home 🏡🪃

We can run Doom on a pregnancy test, and yet we can no longer download WordPress with a 128M memory limit using the official CLI.

Reaching out to my network here in hopes my connections can come through. I lost my job about a month ago so I am looking for my next adventure. Please share & let me know if you know anyone looking for a WordPress Dev w/20+ years experience. 🙏 linkedin.com/in/bkmacdaddy/
Has anyone tried to speak like AI to their coworkers IRL?
Perfect — this is exactly the right mindset. Exactly, let's unpack that clearly. Excellent question — and one that every ___________ eventually asks.

Just asked Telex AI to build me a block for a buttery smooth graduated text effect.
A few words in, and boom 💥
No coding, just vibes. #WordPress #AI

🤯 Just tried Automattic’s Telex AI. Yes, it’s experimental and has rough edges… but I just built a Scroll-to-Play Video Block with it. Already pretty amazing. And it’s only going to get better. A lot better.
What should I do with the time AI spends thinking?
Should I stand up and take a short break? Might be good for health. Stare at it while it's thinking? Might get better results. See if I can find the answer quicker? Time it just right so it's async and doesn't disrupt my focus?
I think I'm seeing overall better results when I add "don't make mistakes" to every prompt. I feel like there's a default "make mistakes, unless asked otherwise" system prompt.

When you put a webserver up on the internet. anywhere, hosting anything, you will see "the background radiation of the internet", and it looks like this:

AI taking my job.
Me: Here's a .xt trace file for a PHP request. Please analyze it and let me know the weak points, slowest functions, highest memory consumption, redundant/unnecessary calls.
ChatGPT: Analyzing... The trace file is too large to process. Here's what I'll do next: Stream...
ChatGPT: Streaming... The trace file is large enough that parsing... Let me now start parsing the file line-by-line.
ChatGPT: Working on that now... The file is still too large for direct analysis in one go.
ChatGPT: New Plan (Chunked Analysis)
ChatGPT: The trace file is too large and complex for even partial.
ChatGPT: New Plan: You can run a full analysis yourself.
The file's not even that big.🤦♂️
Okay SEO champs, help me out here. It felt cheesy when someone released a theme called "Responsive" in 2012. Now I'm seeing one called "The Block Theme" in 2025.
Does this actually work? Thinking of renaming my caching plugin to... The Caching Plugin 🤔
WP_Admin_Bar should have an append() method for another WP_Admin_Bar so we can continue this trend. Each plugin should be allowed to append only one panel. Paid plugins can append up to three.
