I guess I’m doing this now. threads.net/@ktriggerduffert
I guess I just assumed based on how many fireworks have been going off in Old Louisville that they are legal.
Nope. Totally illegal in the whole county. But no enforcement of that…
I feel like the 4th should be a half day off on the 4th and a half day on the 5th so that we can all try to rest after a sleepless night of neighbors lighting explosives.
I used to remind folks about fireworks and trauma for pets and veterans.
I now know folks who experienced mass shootings find it traumatizing too.
We have created a country of people who carry the pain of gun violence and then celebrate that same country by imitating gun shots.
The best cocktail I’ve ever had was in Salt Lake City at a hotel bar when I told the bartender I love gin and was interested in their cardamom bitters. I don’t know what that man did and I regret not asking.

Yesterday parts of the US south experienced wetbulb temperatures up to 94F (34.5C). At these temperatures, no amount of shade or hydration can save you. Without AC, you die. And this is just the beginning.

The author is conflating "Wet-Bulb Globe Temperature" (WBGT) with "Wet-bulb temperature" (WBT). The temperatures displayed in the map and discussed in the article are referring to WBGT.

Legislate. Debt. Forgiveness.
Breaking news: The Supreme Court has said President Biden does not have the authority for his nearly half-trillion dollar plan to forgive student loan debt, the latest blow from a Supreme Court that has been dismissive of this administration’s bold claims of power. wapo.st/3pCcIL4
My body decided it had to be awake at 5am which is baffling because I am now exhausted at noon and could have been just fine if my body let me sleep until 7.

I wanted to share some of my thoughts on today's Supreme Court decision on affirmative action:
How can people have lived through the “Real Men of Genius” Budweiser commercials and not know gender is performed?
When there are concerts in town, they often play right next to my office. So I play the game “guess who is playing based on the outfits of their audience.”
Today was lots of fringe, black tassels, and crocheted shawls with boots.

It's a real success story; one that other counties can replicate with the right policies.
This Iowa county bucked a regional trend thanks to wind energy development and reduced property taxes for its residents.
Me: There won't be any social security by the time I retire.
Boomers: Oh, they wouldn't dare do that!
Me: Already doing it...
The number of times I have messed up addresses between these terraces and streets in Kansas City is high. And I've never been shot. Likely, because I'm a white woman.
Gun violence is unacceptable.
Racism is unacceptable.

Not sure which day, but at some point this week the Supreme Court will rule on student debt relief.
You should know that Justice Alito took unreported luxury fishing trips paid for by billionaire Paul Singer—the same billionaire funding the lawsuits against student debt relief.
