Who has more fun on Fridays in the summer than @kzoochem? The department rotates a series of activities each week to provide a break from their work. This week the lab students of Assistant Professor of Chemistry Josie Mitchell arranged for their peers to tie dye lab coats.
Look at this awesome group of chemists and biochemists—talented, kind scholars we’re very proud of. Congratulations, Class of 2023! We’ll miss you ❤️

On May 18, Kzoo chemistry, biochemistry, and biology students welcomed K-12 students and their families from the Kalamazoo community onto campus for Family Science Night. 1/

ALT A picture inside Dow Science Building. 3 K College students (an East Asian woman and 2 white men) are sitting at a table that has household items for science demos. There are several kids doing the activities (their faces are covered with emojis) and there are two adults (their parents/guardians) watching.

There are several black kids talking to them, doing the demos (their faces are covered with smiling emojis). The kids’ mom is there, too.
About 160 students attended the event that included 15 booths run by 40 K students. The masterminds behind this were our very own Dr. Mitchell and the planning committee: Max Rhames, Crystal Mendoza, Elizabeth Wang, and Onora Lancaster. 3/
Congrats to everyone involved and thank you for working hard to organize this awesome event. And thank you to the @CCEatK for funding! 4/4
