I set off for work at 6:30am, got on a train at 7am, got told it was being terminated at Horwich due to a fault at 9:15am, still waiting for a train in either direction. Cancellations northbound, delays southbound. Happy Friday.

Last Monday I started commuting to Manchester by train. In that time, I have had 2 days where my train has departed and arrived on schedule on the expected platform and with space to board the train. Every other day has been cancellation, delay, over crowding or platform change.
First train cancelled. Second train faulty. Third train full (with passengers from the other two cancelled services). On board one that's waiting for a platform due to congestion ahead. He'll have missed the interview start time. Hope it doesn't hamper his chances of being hired
