6 months after Orban's election defeat another Putin supporter is exiting. Serbia's Aleksandar Vučić decisively lost the elections last night, after being 14 years in power. The opposition of teachers and students will take the lead.
Vučić and especially his network behind him were essentiell for Russia's meddling into Serbia. Vučić also had a rather close relationship with associates of Trump. Grenell and Jared Kushner were in the Serbian capital, discussing "infrastructure" projects.

An attack on Voronezh, Russia.
The following facilities were reportedly struck:
• Voronezh Aircraft Plant (VASO) - a key facility in Russia's aviation industry, specializing in the assembly of long-haul Il-96 airliners and the production of components for other aircraft.
• Voronezhsintezkauchuk - a major petrochemical plant that is critically important to Russia's military-industrial complex as a supplier of rubber and polymers.
Its products are used to manufacture heavy-duty tires for armored personnel carriers, trucks, and mobile missile launchers; landing gear tires for military aircraft; heat-resistant seals and hoses for tank engines; and binder components used in solid rocket propellant.

It is unclear whether Putin is lying about Russian gains or being lied to by his own military—or both. Russian military correspondents constantly complain of what they call “beautiful reports” that Russian military units send to higher headquarters, claiming gains they have not made. Ukrainian forces say that they have been able to use the Russian military’s own internal culture of lying to their advantage, luring Russian troops into traps because the Russians think that they are moving through territory they control. Leaked Russian military maps show phantom gains, often matching Putin’s claims. The pervasive lying within the Russian military is a problem for Russian soldiers, but likely an advantage for Putin, as it supports his own efforts to present Russian forces as advancing and winning when, in fact, they are doing neither.
Ukraine, not Russia, has held the initiative in key sectors of the frontline for much of the year. Ukrainian forces have decisively defeated the main Russian offensive intended to complete the seizure of Donetsk Oblast in 2026. Ukrainian forces operationally defeated the Russian northern pincer in the Lyman direction and defeated the Russian military command’s plan to conduct a wide encirclement of Ukraine’s Fortress Belt.
Ukraine’s Operation Vivaldi resulted in the liberation of around 277 square kilometers and 16 settlements north and northeast of Lyman over four phases that Ukrainian 3rd Army Corps Commander Brigadier General Andrii Biletskyi began announcing in September 2026, although the operation likely began around March 2026.

BREAKING: Putin just lost another ally in Europe, and people are celebrating in the streets. Aleksandar Vucic, Serbia’s authoritarian leader and close ally of Trump and Putin, has officially conceded defeat in a historic snap parliamentary election. The student-led opposition movement has won, ending more than a decade of Vucic’s grip on power. Voter turnout reached nearly 70%, the highest since the breakup of Yugoslavia in 1992.

He spoke in Ukrainian, we both had ear pieces in with human translators in a room next door, and we translated what he said into English afterwards.
What do you say to your family when you don’t know if you’ll ever see them again?
In February 2022, he told his wife and children the war had begun. Then he left as Russian forces advanced towards Kyiv, unsure what the coming hours would bring.
This is President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Before politics, he built a successful career in Ukrainian television as a writer, producer and performer, even portraying a president on screen. In 2019, he was elected President of Ukraine. Three years later, Russia launched its full-scale invasion.
Sitting down with him was surreal and an enormous responsibility. It was a rare chance to hear his account of the first hours of the war and the decisions that followed.
We discussed things like:
How he found out Russia had invaded.
Why he refused an offer to evacuate Kyiv.
The 64km Russian military convoy advancing towards the capital.
How Russian forces tried to capture a key airport.
His account of discovering hundreds of bodies after Russian occupation.
What he believes it will take to end the war.
But I also wanted to understand how he’d been coping.
One of my first questions was simply, “How are you doing?” His answer was: “It’s hard.”
He spoke about meeting parents whose children had been killed. Some, he explained, simply ask him for a hug.
And as he spoke, there were tears in his eyes.
Whatever your views on the war or the decisions made by those involved, this is a rare opportunity to hear his account of events that have changed millions of lives.
Because behind every map, every headline and every political decision, there are real people.

This past week alone, Russia has launched around 1,600 guided aerial bombs, 48 missiles of various types, including ballistic missiles, and nearly 2,300 attack drones against Ukraine. Unfortunately, almost every day, these brutal strikes leave people killed and injured. In the evening, Russian strikes on the Dnipro region killed four people. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Another 22 people were injured, including an 11-year-old girl. In Vinnytsia, a Russian drone struck a high-rise apartment building. Six people were injured. In Kharkiv, the Russians first struck a home improvement hypermarket and then carried out a cynical double-tap strike on the emergency services that arrived at the scene. First responders were injured. There were also strikes overnight on a thermal power plant, substations, coal mines, grain storage facilities, shopping malls, and a postal logistics hub. Damage has been reported in nine regions.
This is how Russia responds to diplomacy and deisolation. And it is very important that support for those who protect lives not diminish alongside the negotiation process. We need to unblock the deliveries of Patriot interceptors already approved by European countries. We need to continue supporting Ukrainian combat aviation to defend against jet-powered “shaheds.” Every such defense package, especially ahead of winter, helps save lives. I thank all partners who provide this kind of support.

Planet satellite imagery indicates Proton-Electrotex in Oryol has been functionally destroyed. Both of the plant’s production workshops sustained major damage, including partial destruction of roofs and walls. The third large building at the site is a shopping center. Our security guarantees are our security guarantees. They cannot be dictated by the Russian side. Restrictions on our army and Ukraine’s neutrality are not up for discussion. The territorial issue is a red line that can only be discussed at the level of leaders. The Americans have long been raising the issue of exchanging territories – they call it “land swaps.” There are also other formats and proposals for discussion.
Everyone must understand. First, we are not exchanging anything for anything. We are ready for discussions. If it is the territorial issue, then it must be discussed at the level of leaders. Other issues – at the level of technical groups. So all of this can be discussed in November.
