My friend the redoubtable South African biodiversity champion Bool Smuts today won a major victory in the High Court forcing the SA govt to reveal its secret dealings over the killing of leopards, lions, elephants etc. The court’s judgement has major implications. #biodiversity

Billionaire Tim Allsop sued for R80m after he pulls the plug on 25-year, R100m farm bio-diversity research project. Says SA politics gives him the heebie-jeebies, so he'd now rather invest his money in a charming hotel he's found on a Geek island. See bit.ly/billionaireheebjeebs

Who are the true invaders, the farmers or the wild animals they find – and are allowed to kill - on their farms? Today, both have rights. May I name & shame the farmers who kill them? The Concourt is being asked to decide some of the deap issues invilved bit.ly/3LhF0Rl

Animal rights activists Bool Smuts has done a great job exposing such cruelty & Supreme Court of Appeal has endorsed his right to identify the guilty party. But the routine issuing of such permits seriously discredits nature conservation authorities. Come on, explain yourselves!
Farmer Botha says he has permit to kill baboons, porcupines “& other vermin” in cruel traps on his farm Varsfontein near Alicedale. Pay R20 for the piece of paper & you're free to kill? Appeal Court says we don’t have to be polite when debating the subject bit.ly/crueltyouted

Last week, five judges of the Appeal Court assembled to hear an appeal arising from the untimely death of a baboon and a porcupine. Sound ridiculous? The issues at stake were definitely sufficiently serious to be worthy of their attention. See bit.ly/privatekill
