Laughlin Buzz

A few hundred feet of hot concrete and humidity radiated by the Colorado River south of Riverside Resort is Aquarius, arguably the nicest casino in town. I’ve always stood by the notion that Aquarius could survive on the Strip with minor cosmetic fixes just on its overall niceness, size, and amenities. I would kind of like to stay here next time I’m in town. Aquarius has decently low limits, a good selection of different types of table games, as well as good blackjack conditions, but for some reason it always seems like table play takes a major backseat to slot play. Even now on a Sunday afternoon with an overall busy casino floor considering the time, only a few of the tables are open. I’m also here on a weekend, but if I were here from Monday-Thursday from 2am-6pm, I could find $5 BJ, $15 2D BJ, and $5 Craps! As it stands now, however, Aquarius’ table games include $5 Heads Up Hold’em, HCF, LIR, & TCP (played as Three Card Prime), $10 6D 3:2 BJ, 6D 3:2 Free Bet BJ, Fortune PGP, 00 RL, & 3x 4x 5x CR, and $25 2D 3:2 BJ. The only game not open currently is a $5 Four Card Frenzy table.

I’m kind of killing 2 birds with one stone by coming down to Laughlin because I have an Instagram feature on Edgewater lined up, but didn’t have enough current interior photos to post it now that it doesn’t have any table games. I’m still a little bit in shock that Edgewater got rid of its tables, which I learned about a year ago when I stayed at the hotel here the first night of my Vegas trip. Similarly to my Strip walks, where I get to slow down and enjoy them now that I live in Las Vegas without having to rush though, I feel the same about Laughlin. I feel like in the past when I visited, I was just so excited about actually being in Vegas that I didn’t really appreciate it for what it is. Now I can slow down and enjoy my trip, despite it being as hot as the sun. As reported, no table games here, only slot play and a Sportsbook, which actually looks pretty nice right about now to sit down with a drink and watch a game.
